As of this Sunday (29th January), I'll have been an active member of these forums for 10 years! :eeek:

A whole decade... a tenth of a centuary...

    Wow. :D

And to top it all off, I'll be 40 this year ;)

And where wisdom comes, soon follows... spam..

I was reflecting my tenure on these dear forums recently too (as I'll be celebrating my 10th Relixmas in September), came to the realisation that when that happens I'll be 25 (26 shortly after!), which means I was 15 when I joined...

It seems quite surreal to have been in even a small way part of something for that long, growing up with great people and learning a great deal in the process; especially yourself GOO, you have always been one of the 'Wiser Owls' of bit.

I'd also like to think that I matured here, as I was for want of a better term a social retard when I got here, and also a prolific spammer, but somehow I went from the only geek I knew to one amongst many, many geeks.

I've always been proud to say I'm on bit-tech, and I hope always will do.

I'm just a few weeks behind you Goo. Less than 3,200 posts in 10 years!

The big one zero for me this year as well. I was thinking about how things have changed over those years in terms of modding fashions and hardware and the like. When I signed up I was running a very new P3 733MHz with 128MB of RAM and a 20GB hard drive, everything else was on board and a 4x CD writer, I thought it was awesome.

Back then sticking a window in your side panel marked you out as some kind of radical...

    Roll on 21st May

Not long for my 10 years either! Time flies.

Good to see there are still a fair few of us old-skoolers still here :)

I started lurking in 2002 when I put together my first build. Joined formally in 2004 having flitted between Bit and silentpcreview. It has been a great 10 years and I can't believe how much Bit has grown in that time!
@Lorquis - I remember your crippling phone bill drama (was it with orange?)
@Goo - you were a great source of news back in 2003/4
Remember Tim Smalley, the gfx race, the obsession with the bat **** crazy legacy voodoo cards which were huge!
I miss playing Civ 1 on my 386 laptop, my amiga 500 (the talkie of simon the sorcerer, alien breed, cannon fodder, sensible soccer, magic pockets, monkey island, chaos engine, syndicate, elite, frontier, etc). It was a golden time.
Bit-tech saw me through my first home build, my first home network, my first server build, two gaming rigs (one with a brand new Athlon dual core cpu and two cards in SLI), a flirtation with overclocking and my first water loop. A tipped hat to you gents, its been fun!

Happy anniversary!. 10 years is your Silicon Jubilee? :geek:

7 years next month for me, spent too much time lurking :duh:. It was all the mods that got me coming back to the site, I still haven't done my own case yet. This year though!, got various designs just need to make it happen.

I've got a year and a bit to go yet. Orac looks as :jawdrop: now as it did in 2003.
