I was using the pro version of winamp for a little while, but then I noticed that it messes up some songs... It had one track have 1 1/2 of a song, and the next have the remaining half, and a third of the next song, etc, throughout the entire CD. I tried ejecting it, etc, and it didn't do anything.

I don't really mind, I just started ripping cds yesterday (this is a new computer, for those of you who haven't seen my other threads). Music is really important to me, and with my Audigy 2 ZS and Logitech Z-680 speakers, I want it to sound as good as possible.

I'm looking for something that will rip CDs into 192 kbps MP3's or AAC's. I don't want to use WMV's because of their lack of compatibility with a lot of portable MP3 players.

I'm also looking for something that's fast, and high quality (I've used rippers that rip at 192 but sound like crap in the past). What do you people use?

"Failed to load the Winaspi32.dll driver" It won't work cause of that error.

Looks like CDex is out of the question, heh... Any others?

Common problem - looks like you have it sorted. After a little setup this is the best ripper I have ever used. Just remember to go into the setttings and put your email addy in the CDDB settings so you can use the Gracenote database online...simple, easy and quick - doesnt get any better than CDex

I was going to suggest FreeRipMP3 (google if you care), it's worked best for me since it has good options for filename output and whatnot, but it sounds like you've got it.

    /edit: Post 1000!!
