Are you just looking for a specific stepping, or are you looking for a place that insures you can oc to x-value...?

WTF is a *hand picked* processor?

Is it one that has been picked from a tree, or perhaps dropped from the gods?

    crazy man!

I thought all processors grew on trees. The cpu tree.

I think newegg has a couple of these.

"The man from Del Monte ... he say YES!" :p

Well ... I know years back that O/C'ers.co.uk used to sell specific stepping Athlons, try givin the sales team a call to see if they can sort you out the exact one u want.

I get the feeling he's looking for someplace that takes the proc and oc's it so they can guarantee it will oc to x MHz... which doesn't exist (as far as I've seen)

What you can do, however, is find specific steppings. Newegg usually has a couple steppings, and I'm sure if you did a search for the specific stepping, something would pop up.

    I hand picked my k6/2 ;)

For those not 'in the know', there are places that will buy a crate of CPUs, test the lot, and only sell the ones that overclock well. OcUK used to do this with Durons and Thunderbirds, but they don't do it at all anymore at all :(

This is exactly what I wanted.

CPU's with guaranteed overclocking speeds, specific stepping etc. Overclockers.co.uk used to do this about 1.5 years ago, but no more arg.

    Processors growing on trees.....hmmmm
