I've read the Pump Performance thread at the top, which has been useful, thanks :)

    But...
I'm planning on a PC-V2000B. My original plan was to get a Eheim 1046/AquaStream pump, but the problem comes with locating it.
Ideally I'd like it in either of the locations below (one of the HDD racks, or by the PSU):
[IMG], but I'm not sure if it'd fit there, so...
    If it doesn't:
Are there any decent smaller pumps that would fit in there?
I eventually plan to cool CPU and graphics, and maybe some other things (RAM/NB?).

I keep hearing the C-Systems MAG bandied around, how does it compare to the Eheim?
Could I run more than one in series to increase flow if I needed to at a later date?

    Damn that's a big case... ;)

C-systems pumps are made to be able to run in series. Wonderful little inventions, really. Unfortunately, I don't think there are too many people who have direct experience with the mag versions yet, as they've been a long time coming and just recently released. As for comparison to the eheim, well, it will really depend on the results of testing (Coolmiester will get that up as soon as he is able, I can assure you)...however, Csystems has never seemed to be really disappointing in power, and this new pump will fix a lot of the reliability issues (we hope).

Another route to look at is the Laing DDC, which is also a small footprint pump, though I don't know about its ability to run in series.

I'd say the DDC may be a good bet too. It should go nicely in the 3.5" bays as it has a mounting option for it, weather the sideways bays would cause a problem with tube routing i dont know since ive not had the pleasure of using one yet. You could check out the project called "BaDass Reboxen" over at WizD. Dutchceder has mounted a DDC at the back of the case by your 120mm exaust. Its not an identical case but it is one of the V-series.

The csystems MAG should, according to dave (the Csystems support guy) be somewhere in between the ehiem 1250 and the MCP600 iirc. There are a couple of useful threads about the MAG on procooling.

Thanks for the feedback .The MAG seems a great deal more powerful than the DDC? especially as I can run them in series at a later date...

The DDC 3.5" mount is tempting, as I have an abundance of 3.5" bays in that case ;), but I'm just debating between the DDC or the MAG...

personally speaking, if i had the money, o would import a ddc, with the plexi top and 1/2" barbs from alphacool.de
but as i didnt have that much, i got myself a c systems mag pump from overclock!

i checked oyt the project recomended above and that guy has the ddc with plexi top

I'm using AquaComputer stuff, so its only 3/8" tube sizes I'm after.

I do like that transparent DDC though!

    DDC or MAG... Decisions decisions.

Should I even consider the Eheim 1046/AquaStream?
Its big, but supposed to be the best?

i think they use to be the best!

size wise and power wise the ddc is the king! it has the highest head pressure of any of the pumps mentioned which is ideal for multiple blocks.

    sigh, i want one now!

If i were to buy another pump right now it would definately be a DDC. Its proven to be a good performer and Apple use them in the G5 so they should be fairly reliable.

At the moment AFAIK there are no reviews of the MAG. Apparently the review samples got sent out as retail models due to demand. There is also supposed to be a refit happening a the company who make the pumps for cSystems so i think they will porbably be as hard to find as hens teeth for a while.

AquaComputer isn't designed to be run particularly high flow so the Aquastream would be a good choice.

Cost, availability, silence, size, fittings would be questions of higher priority than flow IMO

It would certainly be overkill to use two Mag's i would have thought.

I've got a MAG, although it's not plumbed into my loop yet. Hopefully I'll get to that soon, but I'm using a v2000b. Currently I've got a pair of CSP-750's in parallel just for redundancy (although it may increase head, I can never remember how it works). When I first start my comp, one pump "gets going" before the other does (good 15 seconds or so before the other actually really starts moving water, I think this is due to unequal distance from the res), and the single 750 at the bottom of the case has NO trouble going through four waterblocks and two radiators. It seems like the flow is moderately high after all of that, but not american flowrates high (I'm using AC)

Point being, assumging the MAG holds up to at least the specs of teh 750 (which it should and then some, according to C-systems), it won't be at all a problem. One of my waterblocks is a Cuplex Pro (very restrictive), and as the rads are not heatercore style (ie, they're both like 15-pass with relatively small tubing), it's really doing quite a bit of work that's very impressive for a pump that size. That said, it's the only pump specifically designed for PC watercooling (the rest are all standard pumps that have been modified to work well with PCs)

I'll be running two MAGs in parallel for probably, not to mention the bracket holds two. Some of the old 750's had a real life expectancy problem which is why I have those running in parallel, but I'm not particularly worried with the mags (or my 750's for that matter, they made it past the one-day mark). As far as flow alone is concerned though, I'd have no hesitation at all to use a single 750 or MAG. Yes, you could run two in series for more flow, but it won't be necessary, especially with Aqua Computer gear.
Just want to warn you that the G1/4 threaded ones (which is what you'd want for AC setups most likely) have the side inlet/top outlet, unlike some of the NPT-threaded ones where both fittings are on top. They don't make that especially clear. May work out well for you or it may not, just wanna let you know.

    Thanks for that feedback....

I like the smallness (is that a word?) of the MAG which means I can have more flexibility in locating it.
The Eheim 1046 appears to have a similar flow to the MAG, about 500 l/hr. 1046 delivery height: 4-7ft , MAG: 7.5-7.9ft
    (DDC: 420L/hr, 3.7m 12.1ft height)

What should I be looking for in terms of pumps?
The DDC appears to have a extremely high head (slightly lower flow though) and be well designed for small bore systems, which makes it a tempting proposition, especially with the Plexi top.

What would be the advantages/disadvantages of the MAG vs. the DDC?

Edit: The Laing D4 appears to be similar in performance to a modded DDC, but it also seems to be very noisy?

Jeez, with a case that size you really shouldn't have to be looking for a small pump. I can see a dozen places where you could put an Eheim 1046. How about above the PSU for instance? That is just dead space, and you can run the tubing through the same hole as the PSU wiring.

    Good point....
    I don't have a 1046/AquaStream, so I can't tell about sizes easily.

The acrylic top of the DDC is tempting - would mean I had a reason to put it somewhere visible. Alternatively, the Chrome kit for the D4 would fit in *very* well with the rest of my mod colour scheme, or I could chrome the FMJ for the Eheim, but looking at performance...

I was originally going to get the AquaStream, but I very much doubt I'd get the Aquaero, so I can't really justify the extra cost of a AS simply on the basis of the Aquaero
Although it does have a snazzy 3.5" bay thing, which *would* look good.

    Price comparision:

    The Eheim 1046 is £20, the 1048 £30, the AquaStream £50, DDC £50, and the MAG £30, CSP £30.
