    Hi everyone

I am looking to upgrade my PC by adding some RAM to bring the total to 6GB. (Full specs in sig)
I need more RAM because I am playing more games on my PC, and also running more virtualisation and photo editing. At the moment, I have 4GB (4x1GB) filling all four of my slots. I am looking at a 4GB kit from Crucial (2x2GB) to bring me up to 6GB.

Currently, the cheapest I can find this is from eBuyer, at £70.
    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/142403

I know £70 is quite dear considering what prices were, but I have read lots of rumours on websites and magazines that RAM is about to increase further in price. Would this be a good time to buy, especially seeing as DDR2 production will be going down?

    All RAM I need/use about is DDR2-800 6-6-6-18-52.

    Thanks

Why not check the market place? Its where I got my extra 4GB from and it saved me about £40 or so. Worth a look atleast.

I had the same problem, but as I run OCZ Reaper HPC PC2-8500 RAM it sells for over £100 new, which is more expensive than 1600MHz DDR3 of the same series!!!

Hmm, yeah worth a look, but how many posts do you need to access it? I don't have enough at the moment.

Hi. As a norm, ram falls in price after Christmas, if you could possibly wait. Also it's more likely ram will fall then increase after the EU fined so many memory companies for their illegal price cartel.

    Hmm, close then. :D

I don't really want to buy second hand RAM to be honest, but thanks anyway.

    EDIT
Will it still run dual channel if it is 2x2GB and 2x1GB, as long as they're in the right slots?

Any time's a good time to buy. If you wait for the next big development or price change, you'll probably end up never buying anything.

    Yes.
