Title say it all really but what are peoples thoughts on their latest redesign, if you've not got it yet I'm talking about the addition of favicons and moving the URL above the title, apparently it's been on mobile for a while.
Feels upside down... Also feels cluttered... I'm sure I'll get used to it, but they're my initial thoughts anyway
Ah so it's not in my head, thought I changed a setting somehow, not keen but only because "why change"
Had to go and have a look, having done so, it does seem a bit of a mess. I'll carry on using DuckDuckGo.
I can't tell if I'm not getting the redesign or I've been using something else for so long I've forgotten what Google used to look like.
As with most redesigns nowadays: a bunch of whitespace added, useful information removed or muted (e.g. the 'advert' designator is now a teeny little "AD" that replaces the favicon). As always, Userscripts will fix as with the particularly atrocious Image search redesign (that causes the search result to jumble position if you have the temerity to actually click on any of them. Lightboxes can #&£$ right off as a design element).
Same... looks the same whether I open a new tab or open a new default session (as opposed to the three-tab 'home session' this is part of). Never mind - not searched for anything in a new tab... Just did a search & nothing looks new. Final edit: If someone can post a before/after to illustrate what they're seeing I may be able to tell if I'm missing a point at all...
Your wish is my command. Old design.... New design... If anyone who uses greasemonkey or, is it tampermonkey, there's a script on greasefork that undo's the changes. I did the same for ages but found DDG to be a little lacking in some areas, maybe it was something strange with my setup but i often found results missing and not being able to limit searches by time was a real downer. I got better results with Startpage.
On android? From what i read they've been trialing it on there for sometime. Did you freakout when you first got the change, i couldn't workout WTH was happening at first and then regretted moving from Google to DDG and back again.
No, yea, i did mean windows in the OP, i was asking you if you'd been getting the new design on android but you've just said you'd not. Odd that you've had the new design for a while on a desktop/Windows, maybe you're special.
I saw it on Windows quite a while ago and then it reverted back until now. I guess they've been doing substantial trials in the run up to a full rollout.
