    From the Beeb:

US internet giant Google has launched its shopping price comparison website Froogle in the UK, putting it head to head with rivals such as Kelkoo.

Froogle helps shoppers in cyberspace find the goods they want by displaying photos of products requested by the user and offering them links to stores.

The UK expansion follows Google's $1.67bn (£927m) flotation in August.

Online shopping has taken off in the UK, with shoppers expected to spend £17bn online this year.

Whilst these sites are a good idea, they still don't beat looking for prices yourself. I've often found cheaper prices than those offered on Kelkoo, from suppliers that aren't on the comparison site's books. I assume that it'll be the same with Froogle - unless the mighty Google brand will convince more suppliers to sign up.

I'm not too conviced. Seching for a PSU I noticed That the quoted price could be inc or excl VAT. Not really a substitute for dealtime as yet.

It's still useful for a quick guideline for prices.
