Got mine 2 days ago now 16gb edition and quiet frankly its going back. main reason, Lack of movies and tv shows in uk market they do not hold the rights to allow you to purchase them for a content consumption device this is a major issue for me. First i just thought i may of lacked an application to view them but checking around it seems google needs to get the rights to the uk canada and austrailian markets still pretty disapointing stuff. From doing some further reading it appears it also lacks the majority of top 20 games and all magazines in the uk market. Kindle fire had similar issues so it was never released. Ill probably pick it up again in 6months when these issues are hopefully resolved, Its a cracking device for the cash and i enjoy using it, but for me personally it lacks critical headline features that google said it would have. further reading suggests only apple hold the content rights for the uk and europe market ouch.
See i thought it would come with half but i had to do a full charge before even getting to start it. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Can anyone with a nexus 7 please check about using memory sticks with it for. Plug an adaptor into the bottom micro USB then plug in a standard USB memory stick, and see if it works. Thanks! Googling for this brings up a lot of speculation and not one check.
Just received mine I have to say, the outer box was really quite scruffy and the nexus box had a few marks on it too, almost as if it had been returned... The actually tablet looks brand new though and it's pretty smooth in use. Happy so far.
Yep, Amazon don't want everybody buying a Nexus 7 before the Kindle Fire gets its UK launch sometime before xmas.
Considering the state of kindle fire sales i dout it will get a uk launch ( below 700k shipped for q1 2012 was 4.8mil before ), It also suffers from the same issues this does in the market outside of USA, lack of content ( tv shows and movies + music they dont have the rights to sell you the content in there store, same as kindle fire which is why it was not released outsite of the states.) rumors are that amazon are still negoiating said deals to get rights for uk market, Personally if it took apple 10 years i dont hold out alot of hope that amazon or google can acomplish it in 6-12months sadly. Returned mine today love the tablet but for what i want it does not have the rights for, Ill pick it up again in 6months if that changes hopefully.
Officially no. Flash is not supported on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) You can however find the Flash apk from places on the net other than the Google Play store and install it and it will work. Confirmed on my Motorola Xoom running Team EOS Jelly Bean ROM.
Tried (running Modaco JR5) - "ICS" default browser (flash enabled) miniclip & games work fine. Chrome (JellyBean default) miniclip and games don't work.
I've been reading that because of the flash issue you wont be able to do loads I'd like my son to be able to play the games he lies on there.
as others have said you can install flash and use another browser flash is dead or at least dieing its great that google has finally seen sence in this.
