I'd probably have a crack at the titan - single card and all that!

EDIT: Yeah, I'd go for the Titan. Waay more VRAM and it's a single card!

Given that Crossfire doesn't work properly I would Titan all day.

If you're going single titan then I wouldn't as you'll lose overall performance. If you're getting one, then adding more, go for it! :)

I would buy the Titan for $600 regardless. Re-sell. As far as performance, the 7970s will out do the titan

Edit: that's for pure performance. The Titan would offer 85-90% of what you would get from the crossfire without the added bonus of so much heat and power draw. They are both good set ups and its more of a personal preference whether you want raw performance or functionality.

You'll need at least two Titans for triple 1440p....

Well I am running triple 1920x1080 120hz monitors with a single Titan (watercooled and overclocked) and in BF3 with all eye candy on I am getting a min frame rate of over 50fps.

If you want to run 3 x 2560x1440's with full eye candy then I very much doubt that one Titan will cope.

It's a fantastic card and the vram makes such a difference. There are times when mine will pass the 3gig mark, so overall I am delighted with it.

    Yep it's over $900.

I'd take the Titan, sell it on for £700, sell the 7970s for as much as you can and then pick up a pair of 780s.

Well I figured that two 780s would thrash the Titan at that silly res, and two Titans is a whole chunk of cash that will probably look like a really poor decision in 6 months time when we see new architecture from AMD.

Also Nvidia are winning in the multi card arena at the moment, at least until AD have fixed their frame time issues.
