Not a clue, my dad just rang me up and told me there was a letter from them, my dad wouldn't have downloaded it, I certainly didn't and I doubt my brother even knows how to. That just leaves the tooth fairy. I'm pretty appalled this company is still allowed to do business, it's one thing to hear about it, but when they actually did it to me, it just makes me incredibly mad, I think a letter to watchdog or similar is in order. IMO they're nothing more than con artists and should be castrated. Had we have been scared of big words and not known a thing about computers then we would have probably bent over and paid up, I've done a bit of googling, it seems this company is there just to make as much money as possible, and if you try and actually talk to them they actually tell you to basically **** off and stop wasting their money by tieing up staff who could be off punching babies for lollypops.
very interesting indeed... It's an amazing coincidence. The toothfairy did download Two Worlds here. I never got a letter, but that's maybe because the game is total sh!t. anyway, have fun sueing the firm and your ISP for screwing things up so big
Luckily for me (uni houses) I never take the broadband contract, so anything like this would never come in my name. Good luck with it though.
Not this again...giving people the means to download torrents and p2p, making the products painfully expensive and then tracking them down and arresting them is like dropping money infront of a bum and cuffing him when he grabs it. I'm poor, I steal! **** you. edit - before you think I'm morally vacant, I should add that, in my view, the real solution would be to put a plug on the p2p software itself, and the torrent linking/hosting sites. They're the crack dealers. We're the poor, dumb addicts. That would be the morally logical measure. Unfortunately, we can't technically comdemn the software, because the law is stupid.
QFT oh and: Demand the Court order in printed form, Signed for and recorded, then verifiy its real, before that, do not give in to anything, do not sign anything or pay. because if they dont have a court order, then you will be the one who can go after them.
Well, that was one of the previous things these people have done, as well as Colin McRae, this new one is Two Worlds
Eyncrpted torrents will only work if you use peer gaurdian too as the people you connect to can tell where your comming from and what your downloading. I also recomend using tor to get the actualy .torrent files and not downloading very popular torrents off the big BT sites. You can argue the rights and wrongs of downloading but a large proportion of bit-tech people do it, even I imagian some of those so agianst it may have done it in the past when they had less money. I personaly go and see bands I like and download there music as even if I bought all there albums it still wouldn't make there cut from one gig ticket. Also if your into music local libaries are great for cd quality rips
I am so happy I never download anything illegal. At all. I cannot say this really bothers me. Still I hope you don't get sued, have to pay anything etc.
My dad talked to some of the solicitors at work today and they thought the exact same thing, scaremongering con artists, they said it would be very unlikely that they'd take it to court as it would be far more effort than it's worth.
sorry I usualy have one running but something is up with aspell I need to fix it. The meaning is convaryed however despite the spelling making me look retarded.
