Heres the deal: I'm making a program which will convert an ordinary 3D game into a game which allows the use of 3D glasses for that extra depth perception and therefore will be more realistic. the problem here is that I dont have any 3D glasses of my own, so I dont know if it works accurately. All I need you to do is either look at the image above or download my program (here), the program is 1mb and is a small 3D world which rotates a cube and a sphere constantly, it would be most useful to download the program as I am not sure if the movement would ruin the effect or not, but if you dont want to just use the image above. if you have a pair of 3D glasses, please post your experience(s).
RE: Moved I notice this thread has moved: I dont see why, all I'm asking is for someone with 3D glasses to look at a picture, not someone with programming knowlege.
Ummm, not to poo poo your programming ablility here, but you're reinventing the wheel.... nvidia have an add on for their drivers to do this automatically.... I'm sure ATI probably would too. Anyway, that pic doesn't work for me... I'm not sure if it's cos I've got crappy 3d glasses or if it's the pic.... to me it looks like it's red/cyan (which is the technically correct way to do it), but most 3d glasses are red/blue.
Yes, I know that some GFX cards have the ability, but then again not everyone pays a fortune for a graphics card that can. Take me for example, I still use a Geforce 2 gfx card, by all calculations I should have upgraded long ago but I have no need, my games still work. I know my gfx card has no ability such as this. It really doesnt matter too much, it was more of an experiement than anything else.
could you tell me if that works for you? I'm skipping the 3D and just trying 2D games. I'm really beginning to wish I had (or could find) a pair of 3D glasses somewhere...
Well, this will work with any nVidia card http://www.nvidia.com/object/3dstereo_45.23 Anyway, the pic looks right, but not 3d for me... although, unless the picture is moving, my brain doesn't tend to buy the effect.
Turns out your right, I never knew my pathetic little card could do such things. Now all I need is a pair of 3D glasses... WHICH I STILL CANT FIND
try this.. ebay.. not sur if you like it or not. http://search.ebay.com/search/searc...t=1&SortProperty=MetaEndSort&query=3d+glasses You could also try making some with plexi glass or go to an art shop/store and look for red and blue gel film stuff, the stuff that goes on theatre lights. Ask them if they have any plastic like blue and red paper like stuff.. well you know what I mean... I would try the program right now, but judging from the pic, those objects are pretty close together. Hope my post helps

[/QUOTE] No no no!!! the glasses he's looking for are these They have two LCDs that are excited one after the other, so is a the screen image goes from one the the other, one eye sees one inmage, the other the other - simular to the IMEX cinimas - there realy good, except there SOOoo uncomfortable :S
I have a pair like that, but it swaps the pictrue.. ie, the screen displays the left eye image while the glasses black out the right eye, then swap... the photos he is showing us are the blue/red 3d type... and those glasses will not help with those. Unless I missed one of his posts and he wanted to use something like that instead...
yeah, but he sayed he had a Gf2 - and there the glasses i got with my Gt2 (asus) - they just puld into the gfx card and work with the Nvida 3D drivers
right.. I forgot he mentioned that altogether.. I was focusing on the first post... but yeah, I used to have a gf 2 mx 200 w/ 64 meg and tv-out... one of the tracces on the backside got scratched and I could not fix it, so I rma'd it.. but they said they could not fix it.. just buy a new graphics card... Too bad, cause now my p4 1.5 gig needs a card and my p4 3.33 has the geforce fx 5600.... oh well but good luck in finding some 3d glasses, whether they be blue/red or lcd shutter type.
