Got the chip today...havent had time todo stability testing....only 3 hours of prime at 4.3ghz my ram 3700EB is getting tested by ocz so i am using my mates sticks which i borrowed... Max screen using clocgen... and my copy-paste-paint skills crashed later on... only testing so far...look at the CPU temps lol 1C upping the Vcore didnt help.... the chip is running hot...-8C @ 4.3ghz 1.5V whereas my 3.4C at 1.7V @ 4.3ghz was running -22C...under prime the board is about to explode the mosfets are burning hot...the back of the mach 2 CPU kit where the heater is has never ever been so hot before...i can barely touch it hehe...One of the heatsinks in the mosfets fell off...it had dodgy thermaltape that one anyways and fell off another time too....ehhe getting some OCZ heatsinks to treat my mosfets anyways...the clockgen isnt hot at all but the mosfets ouch... Its an OEM chip so no box came from the US even though they are available in Europe I got warranty with it from the guy i bought it with though so its a + compressor temps have reached 72C on the back at the mo from 68 and 55C on the front from arround 48C hehe evap tem -44C priming at 4.3ghz as i said. priming temps
well seems that 2 screenshots didnt help...youve gone a little bit blind...hehe only messing buddy yes you read it right 4908Mhz
thats quite good valve for something that can run at 5 gig. im tempted to get one but i dont have the money for a phase change cooler
well?? you do realise you have been bumped down to 3rd, by an *shock* AMD as well I'll even do an update just for you, gowan you know you want to
completely forgot...lol i did 32 secs with my last 3.4C northwood ...just forgot about it as i wanted something better i aint got my OCZ 3700EB ram with me at the mo...so i will soon have it and do some benching
Here we are.... i did a super pi run at 4700mhz...32 secs cos my ram was running 2.5 4 4 8 auto etc @ 3/2 lol....my 3700EB should be back to me in 2 days Target has been achieved 5ghz barrier broken...i thought that was impossible with "just" a Mach 2 GT...
you didnt get me m8... what i am trying to say is the FX is in a different lead than the northwood C we need to compare the FX with an EE P4...and still the FX would be faster... Forget about the cooling cos if you think it as value for money amd cpus loose their price asap...and spending £600 for a chip aint that wise...as youll soon see your value go down and down whereas my mach 2 GT will always be a mach 2 GT...an £600 phase change unit which will never reach the value of say £100...and because Nventiv went bankrupt doesnt change anything
i think anyone would pay that for the rights to say they own a processor that runs at 5 ghz, well i would, if i wasnt completly broke
