So I'm confused, they're arguing that a Law that has never been enforced, is not working well?

THis is probably the only time this administration has tried to get something done by the last adminsitation upheld.

Once again I think this is the so called moral majority trying to slide it'sagenda through wrapped in a "Protect the children" veil

I agree that people aren't being intelligent enough to filter it out. They take it for granted that their set-top boxes can block certain content and probably just assume their PCs can too.

Is it the fault of the parents for not doing enough research? Perhaps

Is it the fault of the retailer not realising this and trying to sell the extra software to parents could make them more money? Perhaps

Is it the fault of the parents not keeping tabs on their children? Definately.

Does it really matter? With the amount of pornographic material available on the net which it seems is impossible to police effectively it make the law unworkable (hell the amount of porn I could look whan I was a kid was amazing). They should concentrate on catching the pedophiles and child molesters in this world, giving them tougher sentences, rather than policing what we as concenting adults can look at.

I'm all for protecting children, but its up to the parents and those who allow children the access to the means of viewing this material to police it, not judges and cops, they've got enough to do as it is.

If you aren't computer literate to setup a filter, a good filter is don't let your kids use a computer connected to the internet. Or sit with them while they are on the internet. Plain and simple.
