    Hey Folks,
I am looking for a little advice, i need a GPRS modem that i can connect serially to a linux system. I know it is probably a lot to ask!!
I am not 100% on how to run TCP over a serial connection. So you can probably expect some queries on that aswell!!

    Many thanks,

    Ben

Well I am not sure of what the connection speed of a GPRS connection is but I think that the serial connection will be a bottleneck in this situation. Just a thought.

the easy way would be bluetooth to any mobile with GPRS and use that as your modem...

Im not really bothered about the speed, it will only be sending < 50k every so many hours, so speed isnt a problem, and i did think about the bluetooth and a mobile idea, however its a bit of a long winded process. Especially as there is then also another wireless connection to worry about working.
