    Hey guys,
I was just wondering, if there is a comprehensive list of compatible GPUs to motherboards. I can't seem to find a list readily available.

    Any advice?

    Thanks in advance.

thats because you GPU has only an indirect compatability. it does not matter what make or model its is for either the GPU or mobo.

if your mobo has PCI-e x16 or x8 you can run any modern GPU.

if it has an AGP slot your limited to AGP cards which are hard to find these days.

or could be a PCI card but these are not for gaming as the bandwidth is tiny.

Hmm..., I wonder if modern PCI-E 2.0 video cards can still work in PCI-E 1.0 slots. Are they still making them backward compatible?

    yes you can

    difference is 2.0 has twice the bandwidth so a PCI-e 1.1 x16 is the same as PCI-e 2.0 x8.

putting a fast GPU in a 1.1 slot x8 will gimp it but a x8 slot on a 2.0 would be fine

if your mobo has 1 PCIe 2.0 x16 slot you're good. The next thing you must worry about is if the GPU fits in your case.

as adam said, they are compatible. bandwidth differences, and I believe power provided to the card increased with the new spec as well...but no worries. if it's pci-e, ur good.
