Apparently Halifax stopped game taking the payment from my card as they thought it was fraudulent!

Wonder what I'm going to have to do now? Maybe Game will just try to take the money again.

 

And it's for that reason I decided to cancel my online order and get it in store. I cannot trust my local postie at all.

 

I don't get this map thing - something like 50% of the map is going to be green/forest area with no roads, and that 50% is absolutely massive if those comparisons are true.....

 

Usually they call you and ask some security questions because fraud on your account is serous. I have had this with a purchase from Scan at 2am which Barclays initially stopped and called me at work regarding it. To then find that the payment had gone through sometime in the morning.

Unless I can get a PC version i wont be buying GTAV.

 

I'm not believing the size comparisons. I don't see how they can really compare them properly.

Especially the bit with the GTA 4 map fitting inside the city bit of GTA V. A road has to be a certain width, if the entire of GTA 4 will fit inside the city of GTA V then the roads in GTA V must be stupidly wide. That's what I don't get anyway.

I can maybe believe that the game world to real world scale is bigger/closer to 1:1 to give more detail, and in effect making the map seem bigger.


Not that it's really going to bother me anyway, it'll feel huge whatever, GTA always does.

 

Yeah, I got the automated call from Halifax this morning, had to confirm DoB and then whether the transaction was legit. But it said that I'd need to make the transaction again, but as it's just game trying to take the money, not sure how that'll work.

Had nothing from Game yet, so I'll just wait and see what happens today.

 

They may try and take the money again, might be worth giving them a call?

I am so tempted to go buy a PS3/HDMI to DVI adapter and just play GTAV. To bad I don't have an Elgato device else I would record game play too.

Just checked second hand prices too expensive for my tbh So im going to wait.

 

Yeah, I'll keep an eye on stuff today and might contact them tomorrow.

Most of the original GTA games (3, VC, SA) were all PS2 for me, only GTA4 which I had on PC. Put my PS3 to a bit more use, only gets used for blu-rays now, don't even play GT5 on it much anymore.


Money seems to have been taken from my available balance now, so looks like it's probably all good.

It's not actually shipped! The site status shows as Shipped but their not allowed to ship before Monday, as imposed by Rockstar. Thankfully Game will ship it 1st Class so has a 90% chance of Next Day delivery.

My amazon order shipped last night too. Given the dispatch email was at 6.30pm, I don't think there is much chance of me getting it on Monday.
