Because londons exchange is so busy they don't have the space and time to upgrade their equipment!

Or that's what ive been told by Bt engineers about major cities.

It is apparent on my first mission that I need a PS3 controller. All or nothing acceleration = fail.

Count yourself lucky that you only have the 5GB of data to download, I just started installing it today and can hardly believe how abysmal their download servers are... It's going at roughly the same rate as yours but with a 60.04GB download. :wallbash:
I'm wishing that I either bought the DVD or a Steam copy now instead of the standard Social Club code.

It would have been much wiser for them to utilise a P2P download server so the load of distributing files could be shared by the community.

The download speeds up to 7.5MB/sec ever so briefly with the pause and resume download trick, but there's a risk that some files might get a little corrupted if that's done too often.
I think I'm going to have to leave my PC downloading over night and just hope it gets most of it downloaded.

Re-downloading now to re-install on my new SSD.
top tip: if your speed is low, pause then un pause the download, it speeds it right up again.
I was sitting at 1MB/ps for ages then tried that trick and its now sitting at 6.5MB/ps
Worked with the preload as well.

+1 for pad and m/kb combo. Flying is pretty easy with a pad.

I'm getting intermittent crashes, turned off the OC on my card and they are less frequent at least. There does seem to be a memory leak too, otherwise performance is good but the game needs a patch for me at the mo.

It would appear the sli profile is pretty stable. The benchmark is buggy, and I have seen a few glitches, but overall quite impressed with the visuals.

Left it downloading over night and it's on 38.97GB so far, the download client seems to think there's between 4-5 hours remaining so with any luck it'll be done by mid afternoon so I can have a play before I leave the country for a week.

Decided to put it on my SSD for quicker load times so backed it up in steam & deleted the game, went to install the backup & I couldn't. :wallbash::lol:

So had the 60GB download to do again, takes 2 hours on my connection.

Finally finished downloading it about 8 minutes ago.
Looks like it eventually sped up a little towards the end.

Been playing it off and on over the weekend. Have to say I was expecting it to run like crap on my PC, but my stock non TI GTX 660 isn't doing a bad job, and my FX4100 seems to be coping fine.

Its quite scalable and looks quite decent even on lowish settings, I was playing it on an APU (A10 -5700) this weekend @1600x900, it was playable, I went back to my main gaming rig cranked it all up and actually didn't think it looked loads better despite options maxxed and higher res, obviously 8x the framerate though which made shooting too easy.

Finding the shooting with the mouse a bit odd, mouse movement doesn't feel quite right, like there's some acceleration to it or something.
