I have now tested on a diff machine, and all I get is a blank screen, so I am gonna desolder the screen and start again, just to be sure there isn't anything wrong with the 25pin connector I am using. Acrim I still haven't got my kit, any chance you may have missed sending one to me? Edit: Prolly a daft Q, but I have a MO display as well, and you know the serial interface board on them, if I unsoldered it off there would this work at all on this crystal fontz display?
more pics for you all btw visualaid, i used the wiring diagram you posted a few pages back... this is the custom winamp/stats/pic viewer i made :
oh and i decided to mount it in the floppy bays i want to put a black tinted plexi bit in front of it so that it isn't just in the ghetto way it is at the moment
done with photoshop to create the graphic as a bitmap (black is pixel off, white is pixel on), then you just use LCD studio to put it all together its really easy just drag and drop
Did you have to use 2 POT's or just one? Still not sure which diagram you used. was it the one with the POT at the top or the one with one top and one btm? Looking good Malcs. I'm green with envy...
Sorry for not reading through everything, but I was wondering if there were any that anyone had extra that they would want to sell. Oreferably someone in the states, seeing that is where I live. Thanks in advance.
Thank you very much visual. sorry to bug you about it and sorry to be so delayed in getting payment sorted out.
to be honest you would probably be better off buying direct from crystalfontz in the US or MatrixOrbital
is it okay to do this :- those ground wires on the parralel can i use a free wire and solder it to them all then at the end of this wire solder it to one of the ground pins on the LCD with the proper ground wire running off.?
Is there any chance of you doing one of these orders agian in the future? Or am I stuck to pay the massive prices form the CrystalFontz site?
can anybody do a detailed wiring guide maybe with som pictures to help us all? im a kinda no0b 2 wiring up lcd etc so im a lil worried il pop my lcd. especially so many ppl saying they have so far
OK what you have to do is make sure that NONE of the wires are touching AT ALL.. what i found to be the best method of soldering on the pins was:: (quick paint pic ) that worked for me, i dont know if its the best way to do it or not.. also.. i didn't use acrim's cable or connector.. i got a deconstructable one and took apart the connectors and made my own pinout which worked good
spent a while making a skin for LCDstudio that works well with the LCD, see the oscilloscope down at the bottom? thats powered by Liquid MP3, which just overwrites that part of the display, and there is a line behind it that comes on when that switches off. if you want that skin for your LCD btw i will give you al the files and you can customise it yourself i will also provide the LCDstudio settings
