Graphics Graphics card power connecter Q's

    Why do the newer GF6 + Rd 9800+ graphics card use power connecters from the PSU? Is it for the fan or does the card just eat up too much Mobo power?

    EDIT: plus if you install WC cooling and dont use the fan do you still need to plug in the card to the PSU?

    Yes, the card needs that power.

    A 6800 Ultra wouldn't need to of those power things just for one fan ya know....
