    hi peeps!

I have a ati 9700 128meg card(non pro) how would i find out how to monitor
the temp of the core   i do run mbm5 but this is for the motherboard and wont support graphics cards(well,as far as i know!) i dont want to do this with a multimeter as it is to much hassle, is there any apps
    that would support this

    thanks

i just updated the catalyst drivers for my 9800xt and now when i goto advanced under display properties, then under the overdrive tab i have a temperature readout. Although i was shocked to read it was 72 degrees after only 2hours of farcry gaming.

F or C? 70 Degrees Celcius is not good for your gpu. It'll fry in due time at that temperature.

Unless you manually attatch a temp sensor there probalby isnt any way to monitor temps... the new XT's have thermal diodes but i dont think other cards have them installed

  5. You are correct.

GPUs can handle much hotter temps than CPUs
for instance, the clock speeds on many GeforceFX cards doesnt start to throttle back until it its somewhere around 110C
Nvidia drivers dont shut my card down until it reaches 140C
