i recently installed red hat v9 on a partition then after a while i needed the partition for some extra space so i used partition magic (in win ME) to format it into FAT32, after i rebooted i got the message

    GRUB version 0.93 (640k lower/523200k upper memory)

[ Minimal BASH-like line editing is supported. For the first word, TAB lists
possible command completions. Anywhere else TAB lists the possible completions of a
    device/filename. ]

    grub>

ive been looking online now for a while and i cant find any help, ive also had a long look at the online documentation and non of it seems to cater for my problem. this was my first time using linux so treat me as a noob and plz be nice :)

Removing the partition that stores teh GRUB information tends to piss it off.

Never remove a Linux install without reverting back to your previous bootloader.

That's why you always make a /boot partition, which is usually quite small, so if you need the extra space, you can scrap your Linux install, but keep the bootloader intact, since removing the boot partition would free up a couple hundred megs at best. :D

Then you can put NTLDR back (since Windows is usually the other OS installed), when it becomes convenient.
