Honestly, with Forza 3 on the way and Dirt 2 being nothing short of epic, I really don't see the big appeal to GT. Sure, back in the day it was a shining beacon in an industry that didn't really have that many great racers, but now I only see a developer that has only just decided to play catch up and put in a damage model, and took far to long to release what basically amounted to little more than a demo. And the full game is still not out.

No offense to anyone that loves GT, I'm sure 5 will be as amazing as you all hope, but I really don't see the big deal.

OK so maybe I'm being very glass-is-half-empty by focusing on this but it's a shame that only a 170 of the 1000 cars are going to have fully modeled interiors. Does anyone know if only a select number of cars in Forza 3 will have fully modeled interiors, too?

Only 170 of the 1000 cars will have fully modeled interiors? How lousy is that?

"170 out of 1000 of the included cars will also be specially designed models that'll have more detailed interiors" is the correct translation. "the interior corresponds to vehicle damage". The other cars will have fully modeled interiors, just not interiors that correspond to vehicle damage.

Ah, i see. Still lousy. If you're going to implement a feature, implement it on all the cars. I always thought that Japanese people had pride in their work, so what's going on here? Is Sony calling the shots now or something?

well PD is owned by Sony, and Sony is a Japanese company...

The thing is vehicle manufacturers might not allow them to implement it on all cars

    I can see it now:

Hybrid race-driver: "Ha-ha! My car's lighter than yours, because it's got no weighty petrol. Haha! I'll be faster! See you at the finish line, losers!"

    LAP 3:

"Bollards, can't seem to find a kettle lead in here..."

    GT5 fail?

Sony is Sony. They haven't made a sensible decision ever since they announced the PS3.
That's an ancient bollocks excuse. Look at other games. GRID has damage on everything. Forza 3 will have damage on everything. Most racing sim games have damage on everything. And i'm sure all those games cover the manufacturers that won't have full damage in GT5. In fact, i bet in GT5 the 170 cars with full damage will not be just from certain manufacturers i.e. there will be some with and without full damage from the same manufacturer. They just didn't want to go and re-do all their cars.
