Why did they make this such a pain in the ass.

I have reinstalled windows quite a few times and have always followed the back up procedure for GTA4 saves, copying both the Xlive folder and the rockstargames folder.

It has always worked before but this time no matter what I try I cannot get my latest saves to load, I have all 12 save slots copied across and the older ones work but my 3 most recent just refuse to load.

I have tried Xlivewrapper but it doesn't work on the latest patch version.

    Anyone got any ideas.

The only time this happened to me was when I had logged into the game with a different 'windows live' account.

I don't use any of the liveless type programs, so don't know how much of a difference they make. If you are playing with a normal installation, you need to sign in with the same 'windows live' name that you were using when you made the saves.

If you have created them all with 1 'windows live' account then I have no idea why they aren't loading.

Nah its not steam and I have two live accounts, 1 online and one offilne account. Its the offline account I use for single player and all the saves are being copied over in their respective directories so the saves are definitely in the right account folder.

As I say some of them work and some don't which is the bit I find odd.

Yes, it's partitioned in two but this is the same as when the games were originally saved.
