seems hot to me too. i got an evga 260 Cheesecake edition, so default clocks are even higher, and i usually will crank em up just for fun. idles at like 45c-ish. i use evga's precision software to OC and control the fan speed. with it running at 100% fan speed, the thing will not overheat lol. it'll run 60-70c TOPS depending on the game im playing.

good card. i'd give evga a hollah, they got good customer service.

Appreciate the sentiment - maybe I will give evga a call. To answer earlier questions, my hd's are all in the lower cage and are between 29C-34C based on their usage. Ambient temp is around 23C.

But I think most of it has to do with the case/setup of my rig. With the filter door in front open the card will idle around 55-56C. With the side panel off it idles at high 40's - low 50's, which I think is well within the acceptable range. I think the extra 92mm and the aggressive fan profile I set up in rivatuner will be enough to avoid an RMA. At the moment, even when I'm at full load in crysis, it'll be 72-73C and the fan will be just over 60%. Any higher and the fan will kick in, preventing it from doing so.

as long as it max at 75c it's about the correct temperature.

i used to have a 8800GTX, which is even hotter than the gtx260, so no, i never noticed a increase in system-temperature, as with a 8800GTX, it is very hard to keep below 80c. if anything, i noticed a small decrease in temperature when i installed this card, and quieter because i no longer need to run a PCI-slot exhaust fan at nearly full speed.

I have a BFG 9800 GTX+ OC video card. nd i started getting this gpu heat issue..
while palying games like Crysis warhead and RaceDriver Grid, after playin for about 5 minutes,
the gpu temp goes above 85c. Ive set the gpu fan to auto through Evga Precision tool, But even the
fan speed increases the temp goes up, and cannot be controlled, it just increases,
only thing i can do is set the fan to 100, then the temps will increase and remain at 85c or it will go passing 90c.
This happens only for crysis, Grid and Assassins creed sometimes(according to what i have played upto now),
but games like burnout paradise, Fear 2 are working fine even at full load with temps around 70-75c..
Is there any solution for this heat issue? im using the latest drivers 182.50.

maverick i think you should rma it. those temps still dont sound right to me. If your fan is spinning at 100% when idle you should be getting temps in the low 40's.

i also dont like the auto fan settings, they take well to long to spin up. i always manualy set mine before i do something.

my 285 sits at about 41c when idle with 50% fan duty cycle. ambient temp is usualy 30c.

maybe im just lucky with my temps though..

    is your case well ventilated?
