I have a gtx 295, and have a bit of a problem. I have gone on other forums but haven't really got a clear response. on windows desktop the graphics card is silent but in games it makes an extremely loud clicking noise. infact really loud. What should I do? Send it back???? Someone on another forum said it could be the chokes??!!?!? Any help greatly appreciated Infact I love you if you respond and help me. as this is an ongoing very very annoying problem that needs sorting. Thanks, Billy
i've seen this problem before with gtx 260's as well. regardless of the response, it is not normal and you should probably rma. i've seen posts saying that it's an issue with the card not receiving enough power. so check your psu ratings and make sure the unit is getting enough. one post said they discussed the issue with an evga rep and he said it was probably "talking capacitors" and that it would not interfere with the cards performance or durability. anyway, i would still rma it.
ive seen this problem before. its something to do with the type of capacitors(or something like that) when voltage is sent through them. solid state ones are more expensive and dont make this noise. cheaper ones based on some other design do and its a way for them to cut costs IT IS PERFECTLY NORMAL BEHAVIOUR and is not covered under warranty. however most of the E-tailers ive seen will replace it at no cost.
