    Hey there,

I've been the happy owner of an Asus GTX 295 for about half a year now, and it has been running great up until now.
However, as the title suggests, it randomly started overheating a couple of days ago, while my friend was running a quiet game of Red Faction.
Usually the card runs on around 88-90 on full load like it's supposed to, but when all the fans in my case suddenly went nuts we checked the temperature, which had hit 97 degrees.
It now overheats like this every time it gets a moderate challenge, and I'm having a hard time identifying the problem. The fan in the card still works, so I'm not sure where to look for the problem, let alone fix it?

I would appreciate any advice, and sorry for trolling ;)

Unscrew the cover and check for a build up of dust in the heatsink and around the fan. I did it a while ago with my 9600GT and it cooled down by about 15 degrees or so and it's pretty easy to do

Could always consider watercooling the beast :D my 4870X2 was either insanely hot or insanely loud with air, and the 295 is probably hotter.

If you are using Nvidia driver 196.75 then that could be the problem.
This driver was withdrawn due to fan speed issues and you should uninstall it and install the latest one.

That could very well be the problem. I figured the driver wasn't the issue, as I had updated it recently. Right now I'm having an entirely different problem however, and currently my OS won't even boot... Gonna have to create a separate thread for that ;)
    Thanks, however.
