PSU gtx 670 sli on 750w psu

    just a quick one before i order

    have a choice of ax750 and ax850

    only £15 difference

    can both deal with 670s in sli

    or is it best to go 850 for the extra £15

    also using ivy i5 3570k on asus max V gene

    I would say that if you can afford the 15 extra notes now then pay it. In 6 months that 15 pound will mean nothing, you will have probably pissed it up the wall or something whereas if you get the ax 850 you will always have it for another build etc.

    Also if I am not mistaken (and please correct me if I am) but doesn't the fan only spin up on the ax models at 20% load? If I am correct that gives you a little more head room for silent running.

    I would take the ax 850. Saves hassles, worries and regrets later. But that is me and to me 15 pound isn't that much extra really.

    the 750 could handle it but for 15 more id go 850

    680 sli full load bearly breaks 500 watts for reference

    And tech reviewed a sli 680 system that was below 450 watts

    Get a 850W just for the extra head room ;)
