Hi Does anyone think it's worth buying two second hand GTX260 core 16 for the price of one? One of my 8800GTX's died a few months ago and the other one is still working fine. It seems to be an ok deal for the two cards, one's a ASUS and the other is a Gainward. Or should I wait and see what Nvidia will have on the market in the coming weeks. Or just keep the 8800GTX and not bother with any upgrade. Thanks Peter
I sold one for £80, it was an Asus TOP and clocked very well, stupid of me, as they fetch more, and this was only the other week. I would estimate a pre OC edition would be worth a Ton, approx, many reviews put it ahead of the 5770 (including here).
I've got a 260 GTX and its been a fantastic servant. I game at 1680x1050 and theres really no reason for me to upgrade currently.
Looking around atm, it seems to me like the GTX 260/275 cards are actually appreciating rather than depreciating due to limited availability. Tempted to sell my EVGA GTX 260 216 SSC....
They are second hand cards I work at a University and a student has two he wants to get rid off and upgrade. It's been a few years since i upgraded any parts in my PC. All these new chips coming out Intel Core i7 Core i9 ATI's 5870 5970 Nvidia is about to release it's new video card. Who knows what to buy, it's all getting very powerful over the past few years.
Keep it for now, if you're on a 1080 res you should be fine with one gtx8800 for now. Wait and see what comes out, wait for the price drop and hopefully you'll get something good for the money.
Well I bought Assassin's Creed 2 and I can run it at 1900x1200, I'd say it about 19 to 22 FPS seems smooth enough.
