    Hi all,

Just a quick question, i'm planning my new build and thinking of getting the 'ZOTAC GTX260 192 Core SYNERGY EDITION 896MB DDR3 Dual DVI PhysX and Cuda ready PCI-E Graphics Card' from ebuyer:

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/160748#specifications

I will be using the new computer mainly as a gaming/image editing rig and want to know how this will stand up with the latest games and image editing using gimp.

I'm open to other suggestions for better cards and that not, my budget for the graphics card is about £150.

if this is not enough though what would be the rough price to get a good graphics card that will play new games to a good level.

    Thanks
    AC :D

For that price range i'd go for a ATI 4890 though it is 72p overbudget:D (minus delivery)

Might also want to look at this 4870 for £99.99 also has a nice cooler fitted on it.

Think the 5770 would come into your price range, It comes with DX11 compatibility but isn't as powerful as those above.

    Don't get a 192 core 260, look for a 212 core 260.

Also, now isn't really a great time to be looking for graphics since Fermi is right around the corner and prices are way up.

    This.

Just be patient, I know its hard but even if Fermi isn't fantastic you could end up saving money on the 260 you buy. I've got the 1.7 GB 260 216 core and it handles most things well on a 1080p res. Great thing is I have another in the box to sli when I can sort my pc out!

Agreed. If you absolutely (positively) have to buy a card now, get this GTX 260

My recommendation.. is wait for mi-range Fermi's... (and save at the same time as it will obviously be more expensive). Or, get a 9800GTX for now (about 100$ Canadian) - if you got nothing or worse and you really need it.. and wait until Fermi is out and affordable.

Mid-range Fermi, if there will be any, most likely will not be out until the end of the year, that's a long wait.

From what I read fermi will be released in march they held up the release to increase stock .
But I bet they will still be hard to get with the rush of people wanting them and similar pricing to the GTX 295 £400 up I would think .
