Does the GTX275 have a power saving mode, IE should it down clock when I'm just browsing etc? I have the core clock speed displayed on my G15 lcd screen and it never budges from 670Mhz. With the prices of leccy rising I would like to skimp where ever I can. I have looked in Nvidia control panel but can't find anything relating to this. Cheers
Are you sure it's not just the G15 app reading the proper clock speed and nothing else? Try checking using something like EVGA OC Scanner to show you the current clock.
I suppose thats possible, its MSI afterburner thats sending the info to the G15 and my Z10's for that matter.
my psychic power says you have two monitors enabled on the card, disable one and it should return to idle clock speed.
Nope just one ZR24W, Nvidia Control Panel Global settings was set to Multi display performance mode which I changed to single monitor mode though which didn't make any difference.
Under global settings I don't have that option but under program settings I do and it's set to adaptive for every prog where it's present. Clocks don't seem to change ever though
What software are you using to run the display? I use LCD studio and pull the data from RivaTuner. Works flawlessly.
MSI afterburner (which is riva tuner with a prettier face) and Logitech's own prog. If I have MSI overlay the info on screen its the same.
What does GPUz say? I can't really believe your card is nt working as its quite difficult to force one state by accident. " monitors is meant to this as stated. I would check your monitoring is working first. It should have three power states; funny its not even flicking between them.
and can we have a list of running process on your system? sounds like an application preventing it idle to 2D clock speed.
Apologies for the gibberish in the previous thread. The GPUz is not touching anything for a few seconds? If so then your monitoring is sound and its definately the card or as WYX said its probably a prog. You could try uninstalling all you OC apps and then restart to see if it downclocks; they could be responable. @Wuyanxu; do yo play L4D2? Either yo or some poor fellow with a similar name got stuck with me a few weeks ago!
what is FlashUtil close IExplore (Flash adverts) not sure about NvxDSync what's between spool and svchost @Domestic_ginger, i haven't played L4D2 or 1 for ages, only played it a bit months before xmas with friends. the game bores me compared to those hilarious Battlefield moments. but i am aware there are a lot of self claimed WYX on the internet, i am the only real one everyone else are jealous of my fame
Yeh there is a lot going on there, I don't know why I always seem to have so many processes going. The only things that are running apart from the norm windows stuff, is MSI Afterburner, Logitech LCD manager and Core temp which I don't actually need, was just using it to check stuff. @Wuyanxu that item is Stikynot, Sticky Notes for the desktop and aparently NvxDSync is something to do with Nvidia. Not that its really related to my present issue but how many processes do people normally have running?
not sure what else to try, perhaps the newest released drivers? 266.something. dated today, on nvidia driver section.
Bit more detailed snip showing what the items are. I don't ever recall this graphics card clocking down .
I have 18 running on the laptop, where i do everything other than gaming. That's incl. manufacturer crapware i couldn't remove. The desktop rig is pretty much for gaming only.
