Heh, it gave me an opportunity to find some drool-worthy ones. Now, I'm going to gratuitously break the rules and see if any of you remember what this is:

That's ebul camber! My offroad go Kart does that before I sit in it. Scrubbs like mad on pavement but works in sand well.

    OFF TOPIC a little

I just got back from the grocery store and spent some time in the parking lot talking to a young guy with a brand new Pontiac G8:jawdrop: 2009 model. He has about 50 miles on it and hasn't really gotten 'in to it' yet but he REALLY likes it. Tires won't last too long. He left 10,000 miles worth of rubber smoking the tires in the lot. Go Holden! RWD forever.

Oh, and it's bigger than I thought. Nice 4 door and pretty inside too.

Ah, it's the Holden whatsit... Yeah monstrous things.

I saw one of the LS3-powered ones the other day... Very sexy.

I want a Maloo though! Just too cool. Shame I'll never get one.

Young family man about mid 20s. GX or something I didn't catch. What I was impressed with was the build quality, the fitment of the interior and the 6 speed manual trans. It's a nice ride and I guess that since Pontiac was disbannded there are still literall 1000s of unsold G8s all over the US. I sold my Old GM stock when they canceled Pontiac and the G8 UTE. That'll show em!

ps: Twas a wise move, that stock sale

    /edit

The build quality was on parr with BMW and entry level Jaguars I've looked at.

I love G8s. Car and driver loves it too. Shame the first range of pontiacs that look good are the last.

Indeed! Not as big as the fullsize Bonneville or Grand Prix but seriously competent for this age.

Pontiac has always been considered a Chevy with a $500 better interior.

The G8 would have been marketable with proper advertising. Us Old Dudes would be serious about an LS3, 6 speed manual driver. Look at the sales of the last gen Impala SS.

True that. The G8 looked like an actual forward-looking American car - big, yes, blocky perhaps, but powerful, well made and not needlessly heavy and wasteful.

Unlike (sadly) the new gen of muscle cars, which are of Stone Age design both mechanically and aesthetically, not to mention weighing as much as the moon...

    Only $109k?

I think I've got that in loose change!

    Sure is pretty, though.

I've always like Hennessey, especially their vipers. Although I've heard their quality of service is a bit lacking.

Actually it's very plain. Black car with white SS hood and trunk stripes. The only reason I spotted it was a windscreen banner that says Hennessey and in the pic you can see the wird Hennessey above the left rear tail light. Closer exam. shows a HPE700 sticker on the front fenders close to the doors.
That's it. Looks like any regular SS. We have a senior citizen lady that drives a red one and goes to the morning coffee group at McDonalds. Without the Hennessey emblems it looks plain.

Like an orange 1969 Hemi Roadrunner with blank hood scoops and no Birds or hemi emblems.:D

Hennessey are a mad bunch, just flicking through their car pages makes the mind boggle. Just the thought of a twin-turbo'd Viper makes me nervous, even though I'm sitting upstairs. It's just so evil...

Yeah. Like the Viper or the Ford GT need help.
Hennessey is like AMG in the US. Sort of in bed with the manufacturers but building things that fall outside our stoopid CAFE laws. Corporate Average Fuel Economy? Who cares. Just build cars the US wants to drive.

0-60 in 2.8, being able to roast the tires all the way through 4 is very scary :naughty: Although lately it seems they're setting up gear configs to have have a better 0-150 time.

Before I changed the gears in my Hemi Roadrunner to something more 1/4 mile acceptable it would shift at 50, 80, and 120 with a four speed. Ridiculous with solid lifters. I fixed. 11.87 @ 124 mph in 1/4 mile in a car big enough to sleep in trunk. Still have some trophies I think.

<< Jealous. My uncle used to have a hemi roadrunner and talks about it all the time. Magnificent car. Wish I lived 30-40 years ago when horsepower was ridiculously cheap.
