Hey guys! I thought i would go to the source, and ask you guys what you thought of my rig. And i wanted to see if you guys can guess (with the limited amount of information i have given you) what the special mod is. *hint* the second picture is a clue as to what it is http://photos.yahoo.com/scopEDog23
Thanks linear(btw...excellent job on your latest case). Well no i didnt move the ps2 mouse/key to the front, but your sorta close.
Good questions guys...~<(MoD-Urn)>~ the rainbow color is coming from the ice hole on the rear fan, you can see it attached. And BiGGiE its not a network status light...but it is a status light for something else
ahhh Dreamcast eh? You put a dreamcast into your pc and it runs off the LCD. Those are the controller ports! And the led is for power of the dreamcast. the 2 swtiches are "on" and "reset"
Heh nice guesses guys! Sorry but its not a dreamcast in there..but your sorta kinda close. Ok 2 hints...those 2 ports are ps2...and there is definitely something behind that plate(if i showed you a picture of it you guys would know)...but you guys are close!
Is it a console you've put in there? It looks like there is an N64 in there. Either way.... Nice Case! DarkOne
If those ports are PS2, have you got a second PC in the same box? One of the *Tiny* systems that are no bigger than a CDROM Drive? It's probably driving the LCD panel in the 3.5" bay, Isn't it...
Way to go GreatOldOne!...I have an advantech 5822 3.5" board behind there: http://www.advantech.com/products/PCM-5822.asp And your right, its connected to the lcd screen up front. There were a few things i had to figure out when i was designing this. Firstly, the pc needed to boot without a keyboard/mouse so i purchased this great product called the phantom keyboard: http://www.vetra.com/Elimina2.htm It boots thinking theres something connected..and the best thing is that its "hot swappable"..I can add a keyboard/mouse at any time. I installed win98 on a 20 gig laptop HD and installed it all in a gutted cd-rom. I installed pcanywhere so i can control it from the "main" pc. Then i needed some eye candy so i use winamp remote control suite to control winamp on the "small" pc without using PCA(i like the software, but does anyone know of a better one?): http://www.freenetpages.co.uk/hp/patrickmmartin/winampremote/ And i have the Geiss plugin running on the "small" pc in full screen. Heres the screenshot of that, its the 4th picture(its a bad picture but you get the idea): http://photos.yahoo.com/scopEDog23 There you have it. Thanks for the responses guys! If you have any questions let me know. And thanks for playing Guess That Mod!
Well that is something i DONT like to talk about Well here are the specs: ASUS A7M266-D 2 x AMD MP1800+ 2 x Crucial 512 ECC Radeon 8500 Adaptec 29160 Compaq NC3131 NIC SB Audigy Platinum EX Pioneer SCSI dvd Plextor 12/4/32 SCSI Enermax EG651P-VE Lian Li PC-60 Advantech PCM-5822 5 Inch LCD 35GB IBM Ultra 160 2 x 75GB IBM IDE 20GB Laptop HD ...and various cables, lights, etc..AND all that time modding it..sheesh. But its a labor of love Just do me a favor Phire...if you do add it up...DONT TELL ME
That is vn. I am getting so many ideas from this forum, I hope I can add somrthing pretty original soon. Too many mods to do, and not enough time...or $$$.
Maybe you should mod an A/B video switch in there somewhere. That way you could have video going to the lcd from "little puter" of from the 8500. Also you could do the same with the video outs of little puter A/B it to lcd or input of the 8500. (hmm, maybe only the AIW 8500 has inputs, if so, n/m bout that idea)
