We're having an argument in the office, and Tim estimates 2.55-2.6Bn transistors, but what do you think?

Estimate GT300 transistor count in Billions to 1dp and we'll see what the actual answer is when Nvidia launches.

We'd do ATI Evergreen too, but I think we're a bit late - a lot of info is already out about it.

Are you expecting a point-5 of a transistor or something? :D

i think he might have meant significant figure... but even that is odd. maybe it's 1dp for billions...

    my guess: 2.4bn

    *wild guess mode*
    2.78bn

300billion would make sense of the name... but i think that the chip size might be a bit small for that.

    10111000110001100011111100000000 in GPU speak.

I trust of course, that you chaps quoting billions are referring to the US version, not the true blue Brit one. Now, a 3 'Brit' billion transistor GPU that would be the dogs gonads, or the likely spec of the Nintendo Wii, that will launch in 2100:)
