I've gotta say that the standards of education seem much better in Germany than in England. :sigh:

Ach, neun, lech mich du Scheißkerl Penski! :p

(Ah, how the invective in English and German flowed on our exchange :D)

Stupid moment remembered from the exchange: A 'friend' of mine on the outbound flight told the Lufthansa air stewardess in German 'ich habe eine grosse schwanz!' when asked what he wanted to drink....I have never seen a woman look so embarrassed in all her life. Our teacher was not amused, but everyone else was trying not to wet themselves....

Criminality is pretty low in Bavaria as far as I know. In East Germany and Cities like Frankfurt, Hamburg and Cologne criminality is high. Where Berlin and Frankfurt have the highest criminality percentage wise. Noone here leaves their doors unlocked at night or their cars unlocked either. Curiously 75% of all crimes are committed by foreigners, 70% of these 75% being of Turkish or Albanian descent. Don't get me wrong - I don't have anything against foreigners, but I think it's just so ... mean ... to go to other countries and seek asylum and then abuse my granted asylum by committing crimes and generally acting anti-social like alot of people do. I didn't do that when I lived in Malaysia, China and New Zealand ... why do particular people do it here in Germany ? Just my two cents ...

    Cheers

According to the "Pisa-Study" education here is pretty bad. Natural Sciences like Maths, Physiks and Chemistry are quite good but general education is bad according to that study. Sadly enough it's true ... you just have to ask someone on the street about any historical or political topic and voila ! maybe 1 out 100 will be able to give a correct answer ...

    Cheers

I think I would have wet my pants big time tbh. On an exchange to London a couple of friends and I went to Pizza Hut and a freind of mine said to the waitress when asked what he wanted : "Can I become a pizza ?" I almost pissed my pants there too ... the look on her face, haha ... she had a hard time trying not to laugh herself, hehe ...

    Cheers

    Edit: Statement Removed

Instead of doing German at school apparently I learnt French, must have been good because I have no memory of it :D

Edited: Statements such as those are unacceptable.....Expect an email - Haddy

I think he is refering to the large population of "uber l33t 12yr old AOL lamers" that has been swarming the internet as of late :miffed:

In Germany, sourqrout (however you spell it!), I heard it is a common side dish (like french frys in the US), is this true?

It's a traditional side dish in Bavaria yes, but in general it's as popular as in every other country around the world ... the only thing I eat that has sauerkraut on it is a hot dog :D

What I find very interesting is that the general impression of Germany is formed by Bavaria, ie the letherpants, sauerkraut, the accents, the way houses look etc. ... no thanks to stupid films like Chevy Chase's German holiday film ... hehe.

In any case keep those questions comeing

And what ever was edited above : keep it nice everyone and stay with the facts :nono: We don't want Haddy haveing to ban anyone right ?

    Cheers
