    rant

I ordered 3 t-shirts off thinkgeek.com and I got a phonecall today saying I have to pay £15-69 custom fees, what the ^%£$&*(^)(&% %£^%$(*&^* is that all about. Talk about rip-off britain. This country sucks and I'm leaving ASAP.

UPS and the like always slap taxes on, you should ask them next time (the company) to write happy birthday all over it using a marker or something - if its a 'gift' you don't have to pay the charges...

    ;)

Cool idea, thanks for the info.
I still can't believe they charge £5 a t-shirt though, that's ridiculous :grr: :grr: :grr:

And if Customs don't believe that it's really a gift, they will seize your package and you will lose all your money. Be careful. :eyebrow:

Lord_A:- you got off lightly, first time I ordered from ThinkGeek, Airborne Express thought it was my personal items being shipped over after I'd emigrated to the UK?!?! They sent me loads of weird forms to fill in & then lost the package for another week before finally charging me £50 (Duty Tax + storage fees!!!) Needless to say they got the Duty Tax, but not the storage fees!

Airborne Express (UK) are not good people to deal with, I wish ThinkGeek would find another International Post option...

The keyword is "cheap", under the £3 marker, a mate of mine works in importing/exporting, he is looking into getting 20 shirts in bulk or something, who knows, we'll see how it goes.
