NCR? did you nab that off of a register system? :D ... unfortunately, NCR typically uses proprietary equipment... I will try to see if I can find out more about the controller.

nope my dads a long distance truck driver & he was delivering at a clearing house & they had all this equiptment piled up & he saw a vfd, knowing i was wanting one to show my mp3 track detials he asked if he could have it, they said yes it was jsut going inthe bin & he could take anything else he wanted, so i ended up with a ton of stuff including the vfd & a complete (note all working, only cosmetic damage) EPSO system e-bay here i come

Call NCR at: 1-800-CALL-NCR and see if you can get the technical manual for the RealPOS 5972 Remote 2x20 Customer Display. I looked on their website but couldn't find anything.

sorry one last question (your probably getting sick of this right?) i have the serial cable & i need a cheap way to power it, would one of these universal ac to DC converters do it if i cut the power plug off & hard wire the display to the adapter

assuming the power supply jives with the demand of the display, it should be fine... but perhaps one of the electronic gurus could chime in about that.
