Grudge match! Which one will get my money. need feedback from people who've played these games main concerns are general experience dead space, i.e after lvl 30 there is nothing to do til lvl 50 quest story or lack thereof which is played more
I found the original Guild Wars really immersive and a really fun game to play, full of life (Although that was when it was released, not sure how it is now). Then tried Prophecies and was hugely disappointed by it.
lineage 2 was fun, but VERY SLOW to level, and everything in that game is inflated, so getting the good items cost TONS of gold which requires a high level character and a crap load of farming... It really is time immensive, though I thought it looked nice. As for guild wars, didn't play that very often either, but it was pretty boring for me since I never had people to play with... You could always go the noob route and start off with World of Warcraft.. People swear it is the most amazing mmo ever, but that's because they started at the most noob friendly one, and not an mmo based around pvp... Have you heard at or looked into dark age of camelot? Has probably the most involved pvp system i've seen, and it is probably the most rewarding because end game its 3 factions in realm vs realm for castles and large scale fights, and its less item dependent and more skill intended... Unlike wow, there isn't a get out of everything spell for everything lol...Oldish graphics, and controls are odd at first, but solid if your looking for fun and intense pvp system.
Thought Prophecies was the fisrt one (it got renamed after the first expansion, Factions, came out, I think).
lineage 2 will eat your life it ate 3 years of mine and alot of money, there isnt too much to do untill end level its all about pvp and clan control now so if you liek pvp L2 is teh best game for it.
guild wars has no dead space because theres a level 20 cap Pros for guild wars 1. Easy to play 2. always something to do 3. no player killers waiting for you at some random location unless you play PVP 4. loads of quests, special events etc 5. No monthly fees Cons for guild wars 1. Some of the players can be scathing to new players (I had to think how to put that:0 ) 2. Loads of farmers have ruined the economey 3. with the latest update more things are sold in the guild wars on line store. (leading a few players to believe Guild Wars 2 may be pay monthly) 4. finding the right guild for you can take a while. 5. not the most instructive of games where the skills are concerned. lineage 2 I've never played but I do have all the guild wars games including the pre-release disks and I play it on almost daily basis if you do decide to play give me a shout ingame and I'll help you if you have any questions IGN is : Ryu Shinigami
Alex, look into dark age of camelot, we talking 150 vs 150, and since theres 3 factions, your always watching your back, and its gone insane pvp system, its all end game castle raids, where its a crap load of people fighting a crap load of people... furthermore you get hot oil when your defending if you buy it, siege weapons to attack and make holes in walls, rams to take out the main door, or balistas to pick people off, though late game balistas aren't too amazing... It's great fun, and they always have free 14 day trials... There are also battlegrounds for specific levels, believe every 5, so 1-5, 6-9, etc. etc. which is wicked fun!
played them both.. actually lineage 2 was probably my favorite mmo of all time- but like mentioned eats your time away like nothing.. plus the stuff you need to keep up- when get to B class gear, you'll probably buy the adena online lol serious it's a grindfest.. the quests are long- but grinding with a group and world pvp is just so sick =] hard to describe it, you have to play.. it gets really addicting as your character gets stronger.. I dunno about nowdays- but applying scrolls to your weapon can have it explode.. you get crystals back- but when you blow a 10 mill weapon by chance you just wanna cry guildwars I've played since the release (I quit lineage 2 years ago).. there is an actual end to the games and your not required to get the fancy weapons or armors to improve your character.. level cap of 20- my characters personally have everything in the game and completed all the campaigns/elite dungeons.. the pvp is hard to get into if your new- guildwars 2 comming out supposedly (rumors it's just vaporware to keep people playing) but guildwars has alot to offer.. one it's free to play- so you can jump on anytime.. it's fun to play once your pimped out.. factions is the shortest out of the 4- capping all the skills will take you quite awhile and cost quite a bit.. it's not like lineage where you have one main character and a pk character, maybe a farming character.. you will find each class has something different to offer in their main attribute (especially necros- they are energy management kings) so you generally make different classes in guildwars they have heros in guildwars also- the game becomes incredibly easy after you experiment with some cheese builds.. even elite dungeons in hard mode, with luxon skills, you'll find in a decent group to be overpowered and you basically steam roll even the bosses XD here's a farm I created.. very few can do this run- usually done by pug's because the assassin needs actual skill to make it to the wall.. the sins I do know that run this- give me mad props for it.. one of the few skill runs left in gw imo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trGo-4jn61Q&fmt=22 dunno if I have any pictures of my phantom ranger in lineage 2.. but man that game is pure amazing- some good memories
You created the VS farming run ? if so respect Btw the way I created the 55 monk, the permasin, the rata sum raptor runs and the sifhalla run and the uw ecto runs, ALL of them all by myself with out even having a guild wars or the game or even a computer at the time I did it all using just a texas calculator and a rabid hamster lol though after watching the video i could have done with out the audio
yeah the h/h run you see in that video.. I came back earlier this year (after a long time gone) and created it from scratch- was looking for a challenge mainly and alot of peeps called me a liar in grotto lol well there it is on video- without the bs claims most make in gw.. it was run by pugs mainly before this, not to mention even now there's only a handful of sins who can h/h that run in that amount of time- here's the link to the thread http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10353046 it can be done with a small group also but not in that amount of time.. just efficiency- the problem is most in GW don't have much in de way of de skills lol they fail that run since shadow form was cut down a bit.. and it's just faster when you eliminate the pick up groups.. the game was pretty much wrecked for skill farmers with the intro of hero's and the final nail was pve skills.. I was around with my 55 monk using prot bond =] that was an exciting time.. I dunno if you remember that before it was nerfed- alot of things changed over the years.. done all the farms in GW really- not to mention I'd say most of them I made myself.. my claims aren't bs either lol got screens even when kanaxai and urgoz dungeons came out in factions- was farming kanaxai's solo for quite awhile with the rit- got tons of zodiac weapons like that =] it got nerfed pretty quickly.. back then you had to get a ferry in- then if the guild holding was hostile they would lock everyone out.. if you teamed you'd get ferried back out XD and ectos at one point went for 14k, was the best farm back in the day- all gotta do is look up my name on guru- it's mustache mayhem.. go back to the beginning in 2005 haven't played lately quit.. but that run you can see it goes over the majority of the playerbase heads.. if you wanna try it h/h in hard mode.. tell me how you did =] the new guys need alcohol and the pug for heal party during the run just funny to me.. one oldschool player can come in and still teach the new guys new stuff- there are a few really good players out there still but they from the beginning also.. not much left of them anymore- games boring for us if I had new characters to play with it'd be exciting again
I've had a few games now where no Boomers showed up. It sounded like they were spawning somewhere nearby, but couldn't get to us. Just about every game on Dead Air in the airport went that way. One team I was on got >10 minutes three times before we got bored. I don't consider that to be legitimate in that it obviously isn't how survival mode is supposed to work. I'm not trying to accuse you of cheating, but I have a hard time seeing this as the accomplishment it seems to be. ____________________________ www.buyrabbitvibrator.co.uk
As amusing as boomers and smokers would be in Guild wars I think you were trying to post in the left for dead thread to be honest farming has gone downhill recently in Guild wars as they is nothing worth spending the money on don't get me wrong I'd love to have stacks and stacks of ectos but the economey has dried up.
I haven't played Lineage 2 but have Guild Wars complete collection. To be honest, I didnt like it and gave up after level 12. I found it all so boring. Quests are boring, there is no storyline. This is a link to my review on Amazon Clicky If you want to try a MMO out, have a go at EVE.
I hear EVE is very unforgiving, especially pvp wise if you spent a crap load of money to build a ship that takes a few days to build, just to have it blown up and you lose everything you have unless you use the banks...
