Playing the PC version, complete with shitty white 360 controller. Hitting a damn block on hard, though.

Other fun fact; The online portion is BROKEN. DLC? No. Multiplay? No. Updates? No. Leaderboard? Sure, here y'go.

I got to wait till xmas to play mine, however Ive gone and bought another guitar hero bundle to get a second wireless guitar for co-op. Sold the game to CEX for £26 so it worked out at £28 for a second guitar :) Xmas is going to be fun :)

I got this for Xmas. This is my first GH game, so may I ask a few questions?

I'm finding it very difficult even on Normal. Is this something that I will get over in time, or should I be practicing individual song parts or slowing them down? I can get in the high 80's on Normal, but some song sections are just beyond me. And this is on just the second set list! I've got to a guitar battle with Tom Morello which is mental.

Should I keep at it, or switch to Easy where I can get satisfying high 90's on everything? How this plays with the five frets is beyond me...

Don't worry dude - I'd say that if you really find it difficult to finish on normal, move down to easy and get your skills up, then progress up to medium again (or a combo of the two - have a bit of practice on easy with the principles, then jump up to normal when you feel like it).

It can be difficult to get used to - the most difficult bit (imho) is the jump from normal to hard - a whole extra button! :D

start on easy. complete career mode then do normal, then hard etc...

i actually do most songs on normal. only 3 stars on lots but i can do it. TTFAF is insane though.

but i went through career on easy and will now start on normal.

ive found ive gotten better playing on easy as youre not jumping into the hard stuff and getting overwhelmed.

i don't know if ill ever be able to play on expert though.

Definitely start on easy and work your way up. Every time you master a set list, try increasing the difficulty and if its still too hard then go back and carry on on a lower skill. I still struggle with normal

I finished normal on co-op yesterday as I refuse to play any game on easy :p. There are some that seemed really hard but in general id hit 80%. Need to go back over now practice some the good songs that enjoyed. I also used all my cash to unlock all the other songs, just 500 short for the last song :(

This is my fist Guitar Hero game and im loving it, some tracks are very tricky which end up with me getting my fingers all tied up in knotts.

Is single player career different to co-op. With my bro off work at the moment I doubt ill get a chance to play single player as everytime i fire it up he wants to play :)

I think it's pretty much the same, has extra songs, don't think it has guitar battles though.

I've 5 stared most of the songs on hard now but I still can't beat that bloody boss! Expert I'm stuck on Slash too, not a huge fan of battle mode.

That's just silly, I did Easy so I could get 5* on all of them and un-lock the bat guitar! :D I had to do it twice as well cos I play on 2 different Wiis...

Loads of people have had trouble beating the Devil on Hard, he's a bugger. A lot of have completed Expert but still have the Devil left on Hard so there's something slightly wrong there.

I hate the new controllers (Wii), I want to use my ps2 one again cos that fitted on my knee perfectly, this one really doesn't. Anyhoo, add me as friend on guitarhero.com so it looks like I know people ;)

The difficulty curves may as well be logarithmic. I found it took me about as long to get into hard, as it did to learn to play the damn dame on easy...

Would you believe it, after moaning earlier I stuck it on this morning and got a couple of 100% on my first attempt on Easy so maybe Normal is where I ought to be. I generally never play a game on less than hard unless it's a rental, but this one has got me crying like a baby on even Normal. I can get the majority of songs pretty much spot on, but there is always one section - a bridge or solo - that totally foxes me and my sausage fingers.

I have to ask, is Medium called Normal on the 360 version or is it just you? Keeps confusing me! :p

i dont know. its medium on ps3. but since the others called it normal i did too as to not confuse anyone.

i just wish the buttons were narrower so they could be closer together. thats why i cant play on hard. i cant get those orange notes. not fingers are like retarded or something. lol

incase some of you didnt know whent there are two or more different notes very close together like green then red or something but very close so you would strum 2 fast ones, you only need to strum for the first note. you just strum at the first one and just go green then red. dont need to strum for the second one. but only if the notes are close together. and it cant be the same color two in a row or it dont work. but if they are close together and its a different color each time you can just strum for the first one.

it works real nice as havign to strum for both notes if they are super close can be hard.

probly one if the hardest things for me is when its the same not over and over and you need to strum at the right pace. that is so hard for me. i often do better on very fast songs instead of slow ones.

Yeah, what you're talking about there are HOPOs (Hammer-Ons & Pull-Offs, they're explained in the tutorials). In previous Guitar Hero games they were generated by the computer so pretty much any notes that were close you could get away with it on. For GH3 they've been put in by hand. Which is why they now show up as light coloured notes. Annoyingly this means it doesn't work on all close together notes and some have been left out of hard solos which is just mean!

Sorry, I'm a GH geek... If you're just getting into it I highly recommend checking out these forums, they have SP paths and all sorts: http://www.scorehero.com/forum/

Now to find fun things to do with my guitarhero.com XML feed
