That cough syrup sounds like it'd make the most amazing "Flaming Moe"

Cheaps, go easy man yeah? I'm on meds for arthritis and they make me so dopey, it's soooo easy to cock up and seriously injure yourself when using tools whilst off your face on morphine based drugs.
Just go easy, take a few days and look after yourself.

    Thanks.:D
@Achron - Paper-backed. Anyway, I think I can fix a lot of my problem by arranging the cuts differently.

Yay! Thanks for voting for me.:D
Congratulations on getting nominated too, Badcancer. :worried: but we are going to lose...

I was hoping to get an eyecandy update together for this, but I was unable to sand anything last week.
-This bowl of beads represents three and a half hours of mill time. Apparently, that's how long it takes to grind a 7 x 4 x .25 sheet of plastic into dust. *The more you know...*
Switching to a new bit did wonders. Most of these stayed in place during cutting.
-Before I got too far, I decided to find out if my mounting system could be made. I needed to tap out a roughly 1/4" spacer with 8-32 threads. I picked a spacer from the damaged batch and drilled out the center.
-Daayum! I freak myself out sometimes.
-I did a whole batch of them with only one failure. If the little point on the end of the tap applies pressure to the end of the hole, the whole thing splits in half lengthwise. -I better make sure the screws aren't too long.
-While the drill press was out, I did all the drill-related stuff I had lined up. For the un-initiated, this is a sweet ghetto-lathe collet I got from TribalOverkill. It's an aluminum bar with a hole bored through it and a captive nut stamped into one side.
-It lets me use the drill to power sand the 90+ spacers from the first pic. I removed the jagged bits with an emery board first, then sanded with 150 grit sandpaper. After this pic, I wet sanded with 240, 300, 400, and 600 grit.
...Yeah, about 5 hours to make half of the spacers.:duh: At some point in my life, I switched from sadist to masochist. I need to go smack more stuff with a hammer and fix that.
-The final step is to buff them. This is not an action shot ,BTW. If you don't hold on with both hands, the part will get smashed into the concrete.
-I drilled and tapped the mold too.
-I oiled the mold up and packed it with silicone glue. Then I smushed it between two bits of smooth plastic.
    ...I hope this works.
-A test fit is the closest thing I could come up with for eye candy. Hope you like it.:D
    [IMG]
-I like how everything is seating, but the puzzle-piece fit means you can't just remove one. I'm thinking I should have made the holes fit around some of the tubing I have, too. I could still add something to the middle.
    -Top down.
I'm working on an idea for the optical drive door right now. I decided I don't want to use springs. I'd hate to have the top opening while I'm moving it.

That's all for now. Thanks again to my sponsors.:D

After reading through your log I wish I had voted for yours... Oh well. I didn't vote for the Dreadnought though!

Absolutely fantastic work and an entertaining log to boot! Gay trolls and monkeys, whoda though?

Sorry that it was at your expense but from now on I'm reading each log. Bit-tech seems to take the worst pictures from each log and tosses them in the MOTM blog page.

It was still a decision between yours, Bad_cancer's, and mnpcTech's.
