I agree. All contest are off for Cheaps until this gets done. There is too much coolness here to waste away on a shelf.

I'm not buying it.... you could do "X" number of SU contests, Modmen 12 and counting and still wake up with another build, while contemplating what your going to do next with Bloo Balls. Oh that didn't sound right!

    Thanks, Guys!:D
@Voigts - It won't stop me from getting distracted. I have one penciled in for fall, and a tree fell on my Aunt's house last week.
@Nutman - They are like little buzzsaws here.:duh:
@LooseNeutral - I should have named this project after a condition too.

So, they're like pests? Have to call in an exterminator?

    @GCOFIELDD - It's a Taig/Deepgroove1. -sturdier, cheaper, more travel.:D

@Nutman - A guy down the street was catching them and setting them free across the lake. He caught something like 75 in a two month period. I'm thinking about breeding owls...

 -Maybe "keep owls as pets" works better. I don't want to know what a translation error makes it sound like I'm doing with owls...

    -Cut the 2x120 cover, BTW.

    Edit:
-I've been mulling over what to do with the motherboard cover for years. -I can finally say that without it being an exaggeration. I decided the only way I would get anything done on it was if I committed to a mounting hole pattern.
-Drilled into the board like it was an owl.:p Here I've just countersunk everything.
-While I had the press out, I had some new risers that needed sanding.
    -Here's a set polished. I tried a dark grey/light grey/green gradient.
-The mill space is getting skanky. Time to change some diapers.
-I snapped this pic before I had all the fins cut. It's a neat pattern.
    -Test fit in the case...
-I'll have to glue these two panels together while it's bolted to the radiator. The form-factor measurements and the finished product don't jive too well.
-Here's a rough test fit right after gluing the fan cover together.
-Another angle. Next up is a lot of sanding. I'm still sanding the grill from the previous post too.

That's it for this week. Thanks again to my sponsors and everyone else who has supported me this past year.

 Ninja update backfired on me.
-I had a feeling when I designed this that I would need something to align the fins. After polishing the underside, they were extremely wonky.
-I milled out this little comb to fix that problem.
-While I was at it, I cut some extensions for the underside. I chopped a 45 degree bevel into them to match the sides of the SR1.
-Here's the gluing setup. A handy optical drive squared up the back edges.
-One of them decided to slip and I didn't notice until it was too late.:duh: You can see the extension on the underside here too.
-Alright, then. That's one down. The 2nd grill still needs the fins sanded. Maybe I should put on some black clothes so I'm subconsciously compelled to wet sand.
    Thanks again to:

Not me! I hate working with the stuff, though I love the look of it.

I got confused with the first pic of your last update. It looks as though the base is curved. :eeek: All the parts are looking good, I'm interested in seeing them together. :D

    Thanks.:D
@looseneutral - The little slip is about 1/32 of an inch. It's just enough to drive me crazy, but invisible at a distance.
@Bullitdodger - You take all the fun out of it.

LOL, quite an insult. Luckily, it's in code! ;)

Cheaps, great work in the grill - sad about one of them slipping. Bet you're already making a new one, being the perfectionist that you *REALLY* are? ;)
