Hell, Cheaps, don't worry about MotM. I've never won it either (I went up against Attila, there was no chance) but truth be told I still log on and look for updates to your log every day. Most of the time, I'd rather look at your log than the things that get picked. You've got a lot of talent with that CNC.

Besides, nobody's crazier than you. Enjoy it.

I was machinest back in the old days before computers. I ran a turret lathe at Sioux Tools. Made air tools. Ended that career with a number 1 center drill embedded in my left forefinger. Drill bit hole wasn't bad but the infection from the cutting oil took months to heal. almost lost the finger. I watch any and all CNC and machine work threads. So much better than 40 years ago.

It also helps that Cheaps put the box out for recyle a LONG time ago. No box thinking worries for this child.

    Cuts acrylic wif tile saw?

Gotta love him. Only modder stranger than me.

Made me LMAO at 3AM. :D:rock::clap:

So true though I like to see a lot more actual modding instead of all that. :dremel::rock:

    Thanks, guys.
@Voigts - I can almost see your distaste for 'assembly logs.'
@John - THAT box burst into flames, actually. A big chunk of my delays stem from one of the saws being loaned out for most of the year. I'm also looking around for something I can make into a wet-cut chop saw.
@dmcgrath - I thought he was Mr. Miyagi.
    @Kayin - That's just dementia creeping up on me.:D

Great work on the PSU mounting rails and of course the acrylic. :)

Cheaps, you are a man of true form! Seriously, your modding skills are above par, and kick major ass! I wish I had half your talent... A CNC would help too... lol

    Thanks guys.:D

All kinds of delays: Hanlon charity project, 2 reservoirs, and lots of stops because of plastic dust in allergy season.
    -What's this? more beads?
-Whoops! That looks like a DDC top. I hate to admit it, but I'm changing the pump for this build. The CPX-Pro pump works great, but the port configuration is conflicting with me. I'm switching to the DDC because I can pretty much bend one to my will at this point.
-This will be a double vertical port setup. I drew up a way to mill them so I didn't need to use a drill press too.
-I just have to dremel through this 1/16" wall, and do some smoothing.:D
    [IMG]
-I chopped out some horizontal louvers...
-and glued some of the polished 'bead' spacers on them.
-There's indents in some of the spacers for grommets. I wish I had remembered I had these when I made the Hanlon project pump top. It would have saved me from buying a bunch of gaskets, and they would have looked good on a blue block.
-I glued the top plate on, and later milled the edges even. Once I got an edge smoothed out, I told the machine to move in 1/16" and milled down to a set depth.
-After that, I polished the sides with my 'new' lapping surface. I had been using the bathroom terrazzo. Every time I did, I thought to myself, "I should just dig into the mountain of extra tile in the garage for one of these."
...That was probably too much information.:worried:
-The indents I cut were so I could glue this fin on. At this point I still have a nasty scar on the scrap I used for the top cap.
-I milled off a layer and used that handy new lapping tile to get it smooth.
-At last, I glued a bunch of the louvers together, and gave everything a cleanup.
-I need to pick up some long-ass screws for mounting, but she's done. I'll save re-wiring for much later.

Thanks again to my sponsors for their help.

    Looking very good man! :thumb:

I've always discarted the idea of gluing plastic pieces together, if they are to hold water. But since you've done it a bunch of times by now, I'm starting to come around! :) +rep for the cool ass pump!

PS. I may have accidentally reported your post by mistake!

Pro tip Angel OD, when giving rep, make sure you press the little picture of the man in the blue shirt, and not the little yellow triangle ;)

Cheaps, I can put you together a pump that'll light up that top like the one I made for John's build. I think it would look rather good.

    @Angel & Spec - :lol: Thanks. I needed that.
@Kayin - That pump lights up too? Thank God I put a translucent base layer in the top. I appreciate the offer, but this rig will have very few lights, and a stealth mode to turn those off too. So far I have the reservoir light and the power switch light.

@Craig - Thanks. My vision is really terrible, though.
@Nutman - Right? I wonder if Spec can hand out -600000 rep like Bindi used to do.
