finally went and saw this lastnight, call me soppy but I was interested in seeing how the US would retell/butcher the original real life story. sorry about the trailer, it seems america cant advertise a film like this without making it sound like T5:the dog of metal death :fuh:

Damn I can't remember the last time I was so emotionally moved by a film, probably didnt help that I'm a dog lover.

deffo one of my top films of the year.

take a box of kleenex, theres a good chance you'll need them at the end.

    I wept. Like a baby.

Haven't cried like that since Saving Private Ryan.

Saving Private Ryan made you cry?

Do yourself a favour and never watch Band of Brothers, you'll probably drown yourself...

    I'm just weird. :p

I only got mildly emotional when Toye and Guarnere lost their legs.

I only teared up when the surrendering German General gave the speech to his captured unit, which may make me a Nazi sympathiser. Great show, though.

:thumb: Yeah. But I find it varies by mood and substance use.
Not at all, that's a great speech. Not teary stuff for me, but I loved it nonetheless.

Since when is it okay for guys to cry in films?!

Curious Case of Benjamin Button made me sad though.

    :(

:hehe: At least I'm not the only one. I think that was about the best bit of the series.

I often get teary-eyed at films, does that make me girly?

Now that's harsh. On your recommendations I will go see this film sometime. A couple that have moved me in the past have been Seven Pounds and My Sisters Keeper.

Yea band of brothers does this.

I can't watch movies that bring me down. Last time I watched Grave of the Fireflys I was on a downer for 3 days. :/ Never ever watching that again.

+1 for Seven Pounds although I'd watch it again, just not if I wanted to be in a good mood the day after.

This seems to have turned into some male bonding thread... It's ok, maybe you should all meet up and have a big cry and a hug together? ;)
