...And all he got $1.50, a pot plant and some magic beans - as this, he was assured was, the going rate.*

    This from the Inq:

THE FEDS have fingered the collar of a Connecticut computer hacker. He's been charged with flogging copies of Microsoft Windows proprietary source code.

The FBI claims that William Genovese, 27, used a Web site to unlawfully distribute the blueprints behind the Microsoft NT 4.0 and Windows 2000 operating systems.

A Microsoft rep said that Genovese had Microsoft's crown jewels in his hands and compared the theft as the equivalent of someone nicking the secret recipe from Coke.

The Feds have been investigating the theft of Microsoft's source code since earlier this year and this is the first arrest.

    L'inquage

First arress would indicate that there are more to come - was this a team effort, or was VoleCentral so lax in the security department that several individuals breezed out with source code under it's jumper?

    * Completely untrue of course. GOO just decided make it up in a gutter tabloid press stylee, just to see what it was like... ;)
