    I think he's there now. Posting on a P4 2.5(?)GHz machine with a big 19" LCD or something... I personally think he's a git and hope he gets...eye...radiation. From the TFT Isotopes :grr:

    Think I'm gonna give helpdesking a bash as I'm really banging my head against a brick wall trying to get a job in IT without any real formal experience :sigh:

    Yeah like I'm going to pay £25 (thats what HP want you pay to just speak to get repairs or ask a question if its out of warranty)to speak someone like you

    If it's out of warrenty and you just want to call up to ask a question then there is no instant charge. Only additional charges if you order parts and stuff.

    i just got a job doing contract work for the government offices in brum for 13k/year XD

    contract last between 1-12 months and if your anygood they keep asking you back XD.

    i start on office work then move to IT tekkie :D

    and hex, you can get a decent 2 bedroom flat for £300/mnth here, and its cheap to live as well ;)

    Erm on 3 separate occassions I have tried to get a price for parts or a cost of a repair on a hp 2500 and they didn't want to know without a credit card (the £25 bit ) which they said will be taken off any job that was done. I might add it is a known design fault on these printers in fact, many schools in a county in the USA had all of their 2500s repaired as they all developed the same fault.

    ^_~ we send off the order to dispatch, the part arrives with an invoice, you pay for the part...no upfront charge as far as I know.
