Hi guys Here is a pic of my HL2-Mod in construction. It's a chieftech CS601 I know, it's quite the same interior than piloux's one. But i liked pilouxs case so much, and the main reason for me is, that the case looks good. But how do like it? The little box for the HDD will be rusted 2mrw maybe, but first i have a question. How can i get a EHEIM 1048 pump between the mobo plate and the HDD rack. Should i cut a square-hole in the mobo-plate and put the pump in there? Any suggestions? btw: the hdd rack is the box with the cables sleeves I will update soon
not bad all considering but try to have your own spin for this project and ad some of your own unique touches to the case.
What he said... Remember that Piloux made two cases following this same theme, but they were very different in the end. But I'm sure you can add your uniqe touch to this project. Good luck
@Dawn What do u mean with the unique touch? That i should add something, that moves my case out of the modding scene?
Unique as something you've invented yourself. Or atleast combine stuff from different mods instead just following what someone has already done.
Yeah i will, but the case of piloux looks so wonderful. There are some parts of the case of piloux, but also my own ideas How do u find the case, if u ignore ( ) that the case looks a bit of pilouxs one
I think the rust and so far the details look pretty good. I think it needs some sheet metal and more details tho.
What do u mean with that? I am from Austria and dont understand your sentence (what is sheet metal ?)
it's.. Ummh. I'm from Finland and don't know any other word for it does "metal plate" ring any bells? The stuff what the whole case is made of...
Go figure.. It's not my mod (Ok i'm just tired) I think some diamond-plated would look nice... rusted ofcourse. Maybe partly hide the reservoir or something. And oh! Are you planning to add there lights? Metal plates are always handy when you NEED to hide them from being directly visible. Nobody likes visible lights, right?

i have an idea for a light: use a regular incandescent lightbulb. hang it from the top of the case with one of those simple pull switches (the ones with a chain you use to turn on and off) and make it hang at an angle with some of the wires exposed. create a circuit so it will randomly blink and flicker, like it has a short or something. here is a picture of what i mean, and you could dent it and tarnish it to make it look good. if you make it swing, that would be really cool too.
Yeah some sort of hanging light would look "HL2-ish". Maybe make one from scratch to match the ones in the game? As far as I remember they are mostly Code: | | / \ /___\ shaped..

First hit with google (blinker circuit) http://www.electronic-circuits-diagrams.com/lightsimages/lightsckt1.shtml It's specified supply voltage is 6 V but I'd say it works with 5 volts as well so you don't need any regulators.. (Such a shame new ideas never appear when I'm trying to hunt them for my own projects )
