Has anyone tried this? I am using my laptop to play it (its the best pc in the house right now). It would just be easier to use a good controller like the xbox one.

i think it would be easier to use an external keyboard and mouse than a controller (assuming your lappy has a ps2 port)... fps games on gamepads arent worth the hassle. I even had the M$ sidewinder strike dealie with the built in analog mouse emulator - was OK for tribes as long as you didnt try to snipe ... but for every thing else, it sucked. eventually i switched from that to a trackball(the thumb-ball kind)&keyboard combo.

the barnacles will eat you before you can get your gun up high enuff to fire at them.

Well, I could do that, but I love the Halo/Halo 2 set up with the controller. I actually prefer it over the mouse/kb. I would like to try both.

Alright, in the interest of furthuring gaming science, I've hooked up my xbox controller to my PC again, and tried it in Half Life 2 and the original. Here are the benchmarks (level used: Chase Freeman!):

    Code:
                Keyboard | Xbox Controller |
    Kills_____________31_|_____________14__|
    Killed in________N/A_|______3 minutes__|

So, as you can see by this scientific deminstration, that a keyboard/mouse combo is far superior to a controller (plus, I suck at FPS with a gamepad).

Yes, it's very easy to configure. I just use XBCD (google it, should come up with something) and the game basically see's it as any other PC controller. The only problem I've had is that the program doesn't work with non-microsoft controllers (my madcatz controller just won't work, at all). If you need a link to a guide or anything, just ask, it's very easy (if your good at soldering).
