anybody know the entire hl story or have a link that has the whole story wrote out?(i can't be bothered playing through hl just for the story )
Well basically you're this nerd named Gordon Freeman. You're doing some experiment but this ****** named "the G-man" decides to **** it up and and everything goes berserk and so you're there to kick some ass. As you're fighting cockroaches, alien scumbags and your grandma' someone decides to send in the military to get rid of the "evidence" so you have to kick their asses as well. In the end you end up in disney land with weird looking people in alien-costumes and you kick some of their asses too. After you eliminated the big boss which is some kind of an olifant head you have a meeting with some lawyer and decide if you wanna stay in the "disney"-world or live. Then the credits roll. Sorry...I'm not being completely serious...I know. I'm tired..leave me alone. I'm sure someone else can give a more accurate description of the story but to tell you the truth it's not very deep. It's the atmosphere that makes it so damn enjoyable. (I've read too many Maddox-articles ) EDIT: Found some link... http://www2.uiah.fi/~taharvia/halflife/storyline.htm Not that revealing though
Ok, you're Gordon Freeman, a research assistant just hired by the Black Mesa facility. Your first assignment is to help a bunch of your colleagues do an experiment on some wierd crystal thingy. The experiment is run, it screws up, and it opens a portal to an alien world and lets in a whole bunch of these nasty alien guys. You try to get to the surface to escape, but you find out the military has been sent to eliminate all the evidence, ie: you. You go back inside and proceed to the Lambda Reactor Complex, where you find out that scientists have been opening portals to the alien world, Xen, to bring back samples of alien life and study them, for quite some time now. You get one of them to open a portal, and you go through it to the planet. You kill a whole bunch of aliens, and you come to the mother of all aliens, who you kill. Then the G-Man comes up to you and explains that the government had been trying to conquer Xen for a very long time, albeit unsuccessfully, and then you came along and finished the job(while teleporting with you to various areas filled with dead marines). He then says that the government wanted to kill you, but he convinced them to offer you a choice: work for him, and wait for an assignment, or be in a battle that you cannot win. He then opens a portal, and says that you have thirty seconds to enter it and be employed, or you will be sent to the battle. If you enter the portal, the game ends. If you don't, then you are teleported to an area with a whole bunch of enemies, who promptly kill you, and all that work becomes useless.
here http://www.gamershell.com/download_5745.shtml download this 1 hour movie. someone played halflife from beginning to end in 1 hour so you dont have to play it all over and you can see the whole game again
LMAO! Btw, I don't think you could play through Half-Life in one hour. It's not a Quake-type game. Also wouldn't it be...I dunno...illegal to record a movie when you're playing through some game and the posting it online?
Actually, it is legal, someone did beat HL in under an hour, I have downloaded and watched the movie, it is not the demo, and it reveals none of the story whatsoever because the guy goes through the game so fast you can't even listen to the dialogue.
Its authentic. Ive got the video right here on cd next to me. Its an awesome run, filled with some incredible jumps and wild shortcuts. I didnt time it, but I believe he does it in around 45 minutes. Speed running is being done in every game produced and there are some crazy videos out there.
