hangs on restart

    Hello,

    on this new system running win98se cuz i just like it. When i restart it goes off, then the bios splash comes up like normal. But then when it gets to the flying window screen it just sits there until i hit reset. Then it boots up fine when i choose normal mode


    any ideas

    AMD XP1800+
    WD 40 GB HDD

    Have you reinstalled Windows? It doesn't like too many things changed in one go. Could also be a driver issue.

    If windows starts to open it sounds like chip/mem/hdrive are ok, try starting in basic mode, I think it involves holding down F5 or ctrl while loading, check in control panel > system for any mising drivers or warnings.
