alright I just got back from MML and had some hardware problems, namely my windows xp64 isntall hangs on boot, in safe mood etc it will get about halfway thru and then bluescreen or just restart, I looked at the bootlog and it just stops.

so I installed x64 again on my raptor just to see if I could repair it or go into the repair console and replace bad files with good ones, but here's where things get wierd. x64 installed just fine again on my raptor, but the boot.ini file for some reason appears on my other data drive, and it places that drive as my primary, even though all windows files are on my raptor? Anyone know how to fix it, it's very odd it's like my data drive is my primary drive even though it contains no OS files and has nothing to do with the boot. because of it I have to set it the highest on boot priority. something I didn't do when I installed windows a second time. Any fixes?
any suggestions or links about fixing a broken windows OS install or links to the steps to take, I'm hoping it's something that can be repaired, perhaps a corrupted file or two as I don't want to go through the pains of installing windows all over.

Boot the XP CD and try running the fixboot and fixmbr commands in the recovery console. Set your hard drive priorities the way you think they should be first though, not the weird way with your data drive as the first drive. Then run those commands and reboot. If that doesn't work, disconnect/disable your data drive temporarily, and do the same thing in the recovery console. You should then be able to boot from your Windows install drive, and you can replace/re-enable your data drive.

    Hope this helps!
