    What is the best and easy way to swap some of the data on my old Hdd to my new one.The new one will have a new OS put on it but i dont need to put all the data on the new one only some of it.
    Any help and advice is allways much appreciated.
    Thanks for your time:thumb:

    Install new OS on new harddrive.
    Turn off your PC
    Plug in old hard drive
    Turn on the PC
    Go into the BIOS and make sure your PC boots from the NEW hard drive not the old one (there should be a hard drive priority setting that's specific to the hard drive model you bought, this is not boot devices under advanced BIOS options that lists "hard drive" or "floppy" etc)
    --> F10 (save changes), Enter
    Boot the PC - it will boot from the new hard drive
    It will install the old drive as a new device (may require rebooting)
    Copy over the data
    Format the old one

    Though the easy way (and the safe way, hard drives fail) is to back up to DVDs. ;)
